e-commerce store.

I am thinking of adding some kind of store from which I can sell a variety of physical products. There needs to be images of the products, order controll and payment via paypal.

Is there anything out there that currently does this to a good standard?

Does it have to be integrated with members accounts?

If not, then you could create a WP store on a subdomain...

I dont think it would ne nessecary to link it to member accounts unless i wish to track who purchases what and then analyse trends....

It will just need to be seamless, with a back office to allow me to enter new products, with images and discriptions. And have a notification system to alert admin when a product is ordered.

Take a look at e-junkie.com .... it's a third party shopping cart that integrates into anything via a popup shopping cart. There is a small monthly fee but it's pretty cheap. You would put a list of the products on a Dolphin html page and then add the shopping cart code for each one from ejunkie. It will also send the data from each transaction to any file you specify.. so you could create a file that would post that info to the Dolphin database for tracking purposes.

I've used it to make a membership setup for someone. When they paid ejunkie sent the info back to a file that modified their membership status in Dolphin. Oh and they take several different payment methods like Paypal and Google checkout. In the end it would be cheaper and easier than having someone write a whole new mod (IMHO).

I need to accept payments from processors other than PayPal.  CCBill, DHD/Commercegate, Paxum, Payoneer.

I've written my own shopping carts, and know how to accept $_POST IPNs.

I only want to accept the monthly membership payment for my current site .

Can I create a PHP block form with a submit button that sends them to CCBill to make the payment, and which then waits for the $_POST to update the membership level?

That's pretty simple and basic stuff.

I use wordpress e-commerce.

Comes with all the standard payment gates as default plus you can get plugins for all others.

Lots of nice features on it.

standard plugin is free to use.

If you get WPEC, get the Gold Cart plugin. Its $50 but adds some cool options, better grid layout, more payment options, lightbox and so on.

You can also get some additional plugins such as products sliders, drag and drop shopping (drag products into cart...)

Easy to setup and use. Base script is 100% free
