Altrought Yobilab is still member and moderator I wandering if he is still really active here ? Iliked this guy ideas and attitude and wasmlooking forward for his mods, but shortly after he get moderator status his activity seems to stop here and also he seems to stop on developing dolphin mods.. Maybe Im wrong and he is working in background ? :-) |
he was here 24/7 till he got mod..status, haven't seen him that much after. |
He was extremely active up to and until he got moderator status. Then he stopped posting. I don't know if that's a coincidence or.... BoonEx Certified Host: Zarconia.net - Fully Supported Shared and Dedicated for Dolphin |
I think there should be set some minimal activity rules for moderator. I know u guys do it for free but if moderator is inactive at all for some longer time than 3 months than its kinda useless to continue keep moderator status of such people....just my opinion |
I've worked with Yobilab recently, they are a great team to work with, they are also very knowledgeable about D7, but unfortunately I sense some bad blood going on between them and Bonnex Team, mainly money :(
Boonex Team knows well that they can't survive without full community support including Folks who write some great Mods for Dolphin which adds value to bonnex software.
My message to Boonex is to try to split the Pie with the folks who made Dolphin is what it is today.. :-)

ahaa. I didnt know yobilab team is involved in boonex programming team. Anyway I think all moderators should have certain level of activity of perform moderator duties...ehetever its Yobiu, Nathan or anybody lese. I noticed more moderators which seems to be long time inactive. I have nothing against anaybody..but just think moderatoir should be really abit active toperform some moderator tasks, like Nathan who is quite active around here.
It will be qute sad if youbilab team quit this place as attitude, ideas and tuitting mod was very good. Hope I will see those guys back around here again...

I had wondered the same thing myself.
I just figured he was unhappy with something or Boonex and Co. weren't happy with him and he left. I don't know what happened but all I do know is he wanted moderator status and ended up getting it. He even seemed ecstatic about getting it. I find it a little odd that he would leave without giving us a valid reason and in such a short period of time after becoming a moderator.
It was around the same time Boonex had regular meetings on here with it's moderators, at the same time they had given Super moderator status to a few other moderators and about the same time a bunch of new changes had also come out (If I'm not mistaken it was just after Dolphin 8 was announced along with new updates for Dolphin 7.0.7 and yobilab's Development Etiquette idea) ... So he vanished ... the meetings stopped (or vice versa)... and that was that.
Then again I can think of a few regulars that seemed to have used the same vanishing act since then. It's hard to tell who is still around these days.
Maybe they are all preparing for Christmas, maybe it's from a drastic change in climate or the economy, maybe they were in an an accident or maybe they have a real life outside of Dolphin and they forgot to tell the rest of us about it ... who knows?
It's a mystery waiting to be solved, to bad the Spy Module can't help us out on this one!

Last I checked, he isn't an employee.
The moderators can be grouped into three categories:
- BoonEx accounts: these members are actually accounts managed by staff
- Backroom deals: these members became moderators after being asked privately/submitting a bribe
- Language forums: these members became moderators because the language forums were added
You need to keep in mind that the third category of moderators were only added to manage their own forums. I don't think they have to do anything beyond that, but some have. How well of a job are they doing? I don't know, because I keep away from those forums.
Some BoonEx staff have alternate accounts, which they use to sell products in the market/whatever else they do. I don't know if they should be included as moderators, but they make up the rules.
BoonEx doesn't hold meetings with their moderators. There really isn't a need for it. Every now and then, though, they will make a topic in the moderator forum to asks us some questions/give us a task. For example, they asked us to write the development etiquette a while back.

Ohhhhh, that explains a lot... well not really a LOT but two things at least, lol.

i was sitting here wondering the same thing. i also wish to recall that i explicitly expressed this would happen when he stated he had a life dream to be a moderator of the unity forums.
it was all bullshit, and i could smell it from miles away. he hasnt moderated or contributed since his appointment. amazing. seems nathan is the only moderator, zarcon does step in at times, but nathan is the only one who truly moderates this community. andrew boone does not even participate in moderation.
go figure that one.

Would someone just go ahead and make me a monitor? I am a glutton for punishment anyway, you need only look at how long I've put up with this crap to see that. http://towtalk.net ... Hosted by Zarconia.net! |

Hi!
Yes we left the Boonex project for a bit being busy fixing some issues with our Company here in Italy. Maybe you know the italian economical situation is critical. So I did not have the time personally to follow the forum and to do my job as a moderator.
I am preparing myself to come back here in the next days and do my job here on Boonex as I always did in the past.
Just give me the time to get out from this bad situation and I'll be all yours again ;D
Thanks for the interest!

Also, as for the Etiquette I see something good has been done by Boonex in the market and that includes some of the suggestions we gave in the Etiquette, plus the ones given by many people here in Boonex. So the Etiquette was not a failure and many things I see have been changed in the market in a positive way.
I have closed the Etiquette post some time ago, simply because it was confusing many new people here in Boonex who believed I was a sort of Boonex administrator.
Also many people who seemed to be interested a lot in the Etiquette project just disappeared few weeks after we begun. The Etiquette post was written by me but not entirely ideated by me. So if we want to do something for the Boonex project, we should do it all together and I'll be happy to participate with my knowledge and effort.
Thanks
