Please explain steps that need to be taken to reproduce problem. I have no problems removing avatars.

See if you can reproduce on the dolphin demo site http://demo.boonex.com

hello, I just tried on your web site and I think I know where the problem is just not 100% sure how to solve it. When you open/click on the 'Avatar' tab/section, you have the view called 'My Avatars' on the top left. On my web site I do not have this view anywhere. I presume I just have to make some changes in the boonex admin panel to add the view there?

The second issue, i.e. that when you go to admin panel, membership level settings and disable the option 'Upload Avatar' to users, the users are still able to upload the avatar. I can't test this issue on your web site as I don't have access to your admin panel, but I presume the issue is there as well.

http://demo.boonex.com is not my website. It's the boonex demo site.

admin access is

ID: admin
Pass: dolphin

thanks Reggie! I didn't get a chance to test it on my site yet, but on the boonex one I see in the admin panel that non users have the Upload Avatar disabled. and yet when I go to the boonex demo site, do not log in, i.e. I remain non user, it still does let me to upload avatar

hi guys, that didn't work. the promotion was already unchecked on my site. I tried to check it, save it and then uncheck it and save it. users are still able to upload avatar despite the fact this is disabled for them. still looks like a major bug and needs to be resolved asap... could some one from boonex look at it please and fix it as soon as possible? thank you in advance!

also, once a user uploads his/her avatar, I should be able to delete it at anytime as an admin. but this does not seem to be possible at all. can some one from boonex resolve this asap please? it's really urgent for us.. thank you in advance

PS: I managed to be able to remove my own avatar by adding the 'choose avatar' block in the admin panel. this is not 100% great either though, as with adding this blog, users can also choose the default site avatars/pictures, which I didn't really want to do. our site is for work/working professionals and those site pictures are simply not a good option for us. if some one from boonex can help us to resolve this isssue as well that would be great. thank you.

If your really serious about controlling the Avatars, use Deanos Tools in the market.

Your able to "login" to a members account without password, navigate to the Avatar page as usual and remove it with the little red "x" icon..

[edit] also, your able to change the default icons set, they are in there own directory, if you want you can only have a few, or a few thousand..

thanks newton27. could you please be more specific which exact module it is? could you please send me a link?

this still won't resolve the other issue, which is much more urgent (disabling avatar upload to users still doesn't work) , but thank you for this anyway!

BoonEx team, could you please get back to me/fix the disabling avatar upload issue as soon as possible?

thank you in advance!

thank you newton27 and thank you Alex.

newton27: thanks again. the mod seems to be really good and powerful. but personally I prefer not to have such power, e.g. setting other members as admins/or log with the admin power to any user's account. I'd like to leave the members their privacy, e.g. for things that they set up to be seen as 'Me only'.

Alex, if there is anyway this bug could be fixed on my web site before the next boonex version release I would really appreciate it, even if it includes some fair cost. please let me know. thank you in advance.

Kind Regards,

Marek

I have to agree but the tool is necessary sometimes, even if they add the feature, that tool is very handy.

Your not actually setting any member to admin unless you make that choice, you are logging into their account on "your" website to change something that violates your TOSA you have set for your site.

I am having a similar problem as well, only me and other admins can see the "Manage Avatars" Options on the edit profile page.  I have checked that its not a members access right  issues and also made sure its not a "page access control issues as well. But now i am lost what else it could be.

Thanks in advance
