Only a month after face book Timeline launched, a poll found that 86 per cent of people hated the new changes, the equivalent of 688 million people.
And what about this facebook copy boonexs couples profile :O)
Facebook has created special 'Couples' pages for people in relationships - and rolled the function out without warning.
Just found the completely unasked-for couples page that FB has created for me. Creepy and intrusive. just leave Facebook how it was," said one Twitter user.

Oh my gosh, I didn't hear that about the Facebook couples profile - too funny.
I haven't really even looked at the new timeline function. My upgrade to 7.1 was a disaster, so I am making a strategic retreat back to 7.0.9. I can tell you though that Boonex has a tendency to copy the latest trends, rather than trying to learn from this community what we need to be successful. I noticed their new surprise feature was a Pinterest copy.

That is where most companies go wrong, not LISTENING to its supporters!!! Some do get lucky and continue to do business regardless of how much they ignore their users! Ultra Newb reporting for duty. |

May i ask why?. My 7.1 install is like a dream come true. Minor issues, but very time consuming to move the needed content/settings/modifications... from 7.0.9 since i never run the upgrade so i have to do it manually. But other than that no complaints here.

I noticed their new surprise feature was a Pinterest copy
It looked much like Pinterest, but it wasn't created for the sake of copying or even following any trends. We recognised the need for site-wide mixed content display system long ago, but until recently there was no way to do it without overusing homepage space. Pinterest-like display was a perfect way.
See, with software we can't introduce novel UI features until they become at least somewhat conventional. This is one reason why we have to stay one step behind the "latest trend" in terms of UI - we need to see what actually works and what users get used to, then we pass it on to webmasters through our software.

The timeline is not doing what my members want it to do, what I thought it would do. What my members want is an easy way to see what their friends are doing, when they create a new blog post, add photos, etc. and when someone has commented on their blog posts, photos, guestbook, etc.
Another problem with the timeline is that it shows too much. You just need to have a brief excerpt, and the mention of a photo, not the whole photo.
Another thing is the "commented on a blog post"; not enough information there and members have requested to see the user's name and blog title.
The timeline is a good idea, just not implemented correctly. I am starting a social network, much like any other social network. What is needed is for Boonex to start a real social network and get REAL feedback from the members using that social network. I like Dolphin, it offers a rich feature set; however, some of that feature set just isn't implemented correctly. Which means hacking the code to try and get it as it should be.

Wow your pretty much just unhappy with D all around.
How about removing the outline and replace it with the "Spy" box, less info.

I don't know if Mingle is unhappy with D all around, timeline was the only thing mentioned.

Mingle mentioned the timeline not sure if he meant the Outline on the index page, or the timeline on the account page. While the same module, content is filtered based on what page the block is included on. This was mentioned by Boonex on some other post asking about Outline/Timeline; you can search to find it.
I like the way the Outline works on the homepage (index). However, the Timeline on the Account page will need some work; which means hacking the code unless Boonex feels they should changed it. I have already outlined what my members are saying about the timeline; most are asking that it be removed. However, I need a way for members to see what their friends are doing, so if not the Timeline which for the most part they hate, then that means creating my own Timeline. I think it would be easier to just edit the existing Timeline which means of course that updates to it would break it and they would have to be redone; however, that is the case with most mods on the market.

If you read the post correctly g girl I am in fact all in favor of change even when its just for the sake of change :O) as necessity is the mother of invention .
This is not to say that I am happy with the eclectic way the boonies appear to tread water whilst trying to run a marathon along 3 different courses
I had hoped this statement qualified that. Change is good peeps..
