default htaccess file needed

After reading a few threads here, I think I know part of the problem I'm having. Possibly, the htaccess file that comes with the Dolphin install is actually called .htaccess in the installer. This is a problem for all mac users as filenames that start with a period are invisible.

If the htaccess file could be called just that - without the period - in the installer, that would certainly help. Then we could add the period after uploading via ftp.

In the meantime, could someone please post the contents of the default htaccess file here so I can create one and see if it solves my problems?

many thanks.

You mean you cannot view hidden files in the zipped archive either?

Dotted file names are standard *nix file notation for hidden files that have been around
for millions of years so I doubt anyone is interested in changing it just for a couple users.

Look what a TWO SECOND internet search turned up  .....  (with many other results)
How to Show and Hide Hidden Files on Mac OS X

No mac users will be able to see this!

I already did that search but I could not see any htaccess files in the zip archive.

There's not much friendliness around here - everyone jumps down my throat when I ask a simple question!

Smart arse. I know that.  And when you say a couple of users, you are including every mac users out there. A Stupid and ignorant comment.

That's it -- Boonex I'm uninstalling you. I can't take any more from your users. Unfriendly and condescending lot that you are.

I tried to help you and IMHO was NOT condecending  .....

If mac users are serious about viewing hidden files they will make
the necessary concessions  .....  (IMHO)

If that the way you feel then good luck to ya  .....
