d7.1 beta forum language update problem

ok. i mentioned before about making a alt directory with the uni in the beta version 7.1. seems to allow the forums to run BUT there was a problem.. compiling all modules.. then the forum I says that it compiled in the forum. BUT i still get those [L]topic[] brackets that usually disappear after you do that language compile.. reverted back to UNI and still got the same thing.. delete all ALT_EN and UNI_EN in forums module then recompiled again.. same problem.. what am i missing here?

nevermind. i just restored an old backup and make a copy of uni_en to alt_en in forums/layout. don't know how it got corrupted in the first place. let's see if it happens again.
