completely customizable?

I design my concept sites on photostudio to be fully unique. I am wondering if you can take the dolphin suite, and take the features and mold them to your design layout. Dolphin seems to have all the major features I need, but I just need it to be able to be fully customizable in terms of front-end design.

Thanks for the help.

Piece of cake..... all you have to do is edit about 90 CSS files and a hundred or so template files.

My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees.

Hi... thanks. I'm not really a developer so I take it you might have been sarcastic there? Are you saying its possible but extremely time consuming? Or did you actually mean peace of cake lol. Thanks.

It is possible, but yes, time consuming.  houstonlively is correct in saying there are a couple of hundred files across the suite to edit depending on what you want to change.

This should be with bold characters and quoted.. :)

I hope this will change on D7.. that's the main reason why there are so few dolphin templates.. wait! what I'm talking about!? the only thing modified on D6 new templates are the colors..

Yes, this is possible. It does take time and knowledge of how the Dolphin template system works. It's based on PHP Objects (classes), template html files and CSS. It's all mixed together to produce a page. What's great about the system is that you can target any part of a page via the key/token system. Once you know how it works, you can make any layout you imagine.

I have some samples posted. Just click my avatar.

If I ever get some time I would love to just write out a full tutorial on this stuff. For now, you can check the trac, there is some info there on how a Dolphin page is contructed. You can also check out a post by dean (I can't remember his full avatar...sowwy) but he simplified the approach to creating custom blocks. I also have a Dolphin tutorial site if you want to check it out. It has a set of starter tutorials on this stuff. There is also a resource page with more links to other Dolphin sites that I find along the way.

Good luck!
