change from php 5.6 to php 7.1

Please inform as to how, if it is possible, to change php 5.6 to php 7.1 for dolphin 7.3.5.

At a server where dolphin is the primary, a sub-site which uses joomla requires upgrade to php 7. When that sub-site is upgraded it does not show but gives a blank page. Also when the server tried to adjust that, we were getting a notice about mbstring requirement for the boonex dolphin site.

That notice read this:

mbstring extension not installed. Warning! Dolphin cannot work without mbstring extension.

The server agent said I had to get a developer to deal with that. Does anyone have experience with this.

My main question is if dolphin can be upgraded from php 5.6 to php 7.1

It can be; others have went through on their own outside of Boonex and replaced the problem areas.  However, I would just go with php 5.6 for now.  The problem is that a lot of hosting companies are pushing everyone to php 7.  One way around that is to run a VPS or dedicated server where you can put any version; including multiple ones on the same server.  Some hosts are charging extra for php 5.6; just shop around if need be.

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
