When I check the looking for "intersex" box in the edit profile section, it doesn't show up on my profile, but looking for "man" or "woman" does. I need intersex to work.

There are a few things going on that will affect your search parameters. The first being that the fields are labeled incorrectly. If you look in your Builders - Profile Fields - Search: you will notice that the "Sex" field is labeled as "Looking For" and the "Looking For" field is labeled as "Sex". This is the first part of it not working properly.
Second - the search function will look for any results that match the search criteria - so if you have Looking For and Sex fields in the search form - it will look for both of those fields. Example: you have Sex as Intersex, and Looking For as male. It will look for all Intersex Looking For a Male. Not just Intersex and intersex looking for a male. This applies to all other fields as well.
Try removing all fields from the simple search except the Looking For field - also relabel the field. This should work if you search for intersex in the Looking For field. If it does - then just add back the fields that you want to add in your search criteria.
One more tidbit. The looking For field is not the search itself but a variable of each profile. What I mean is that if you are looking for intersex members - then do not use the Looking For field - this is not what it means. Looking For is a field asking what the members are looking for. So if using the Looking For field - you are requesting results of 'all members looking for Intersex persons'. Using the Sex field will result in 'all members who are intersex'. caredesign.net |
