I'm new to all of this but have you tried looking through your Language Settings?

If you can't find it there, look in your database tables.

Do you have any other admins who might have changed things?

not in that area,, i do have admins who made the sub category list for the forums and that is where that tab is pulling that text from,, i just want to hard code "rangers forums" on that tab and stop it from pulling info from the sub groups list

Normally the tabs shows the title of the page you are on.  I have not looked at the forum module to see how it works to place the text in the tab.  Perhaps the forum module creates the title for the page on the fly.  If that is the case, all you would need to do is to find that bit in the code and change it so that it no longer generates the title on the fly.  Some of the developers of Boonex might know more.  Send one of them a message and ask about the forum page title; or perhaps they will visit this thread.

edit: sorry for my late reply but I did not understand the question at first.

I don't have a name for the forum, so it just says forum.  Your forum is working correctly.  If you want it to work differently than how it is currently design to work, then you need to edit the forum code to change it.
