blank orca

I just installed Dolphin 6.1.4 and when I click on the orca link in the admin panel (plugins), I see nothing but a blank page.  This is the second time I installed it.    any suggestions?

not sure if this is a clue, but I know I don't have Orca registered, since it goes blank when I access it via admin.

On the groups, I was able to create a group, but when accessing, at the top of the page, I get this:

Bad install download maybe??

Who is your hosting with?  Sometimes files don't copy over correctly for an install depending on the server settings.

Lunarpages is my host.

I suppose I can download another copy and try it again.  I use filezilla, and compared to WSftp, it is fast, but sometimes, I wonder if the files are going across correctly.  I don't get any errors though..  when uploading

I woiuld suggest uploading the package as a zip file and unpacking server side.  Is lunarpages fully dolphin compliant?  I have not heard of them.

fully compliant according to Lunarpages they are, according to Boonex about a previous issue, no.

However, I am not getting any errors on Orca at this point in time, so will try to reinstall.

I don't know how to extract zip server side, so I will manually upload files once more.

I just wish there was an easier way of setting dir permissions without manaully ftping the site..

Try using this tool, http://www.expertzzz.com/Downloadz/view/3861 it makes the permissions changes a breeze.

Generally speaking most the time the document root path is

/home/vande11/public_html/  =  http://skidpics.com 

I would make sure in the config file you have the correct paths!

then make sure in your inc/header.inc.php  file you have

$dir['root'] = "/home/vande11/public_html/skidpics/community/"  remember the trailing slash!

I did the reinstall and checked what you suggested. All is set correct, and Orca still not showing anything in admin plugins..  blank screen as it was before..

anything to do with .htaccess?

I came here for the same exact reason. Orca comes up blank for me and I'm hosted by lunarpages as well.

This is my second install and still no luck for me. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

glad someone is finally having an issue with the same software, on the same server..

Maybe we can get thsi resolved together.

I am waiting on an email from support@boonex.com converning the blank issue, but no reply yet as of 4 days ago..

With version 6.1.1, they were telling me it was an error with the Dom XLTS, but again, Lunar pages said it was properly installed.  Now with 6.1.4, there is just a blank page - so not sure yet on this issue.

Have you solved this issue? Appreciate if you could provide the solution.

In my case, I have transferred my site to a new server, checked and all seems work including forum. The only issue I have is that I am not able to upload an image. Then I applied the CHMOD (following the instruction seen in detailed first-time-installation page) as it might be the issue of the upload image.

However, I still have the same problem with an addition of the FORUM link gives me a blank or white page thenafter.

Two things I need to know:

1) how to enable the "upload photos" (error says: upload failed)

2) how to see my Forum (ORCA) back in action

I disabled.reenabled PHP5 and the forum admin showed up.

I was able to create a forum, and a subforum, but when accessing the subforum, I get all sorts of errors:

They have a different server that has Sablotron installed - They are fixing to move my hosting to the new server, so hopefully that might fix the problem.  I am awaiting confirmation on the final quesions concerning this issue. They may give me test access to make sure it will run, if so, I will post the results and let you know how to request a transfer from your currect server..

Got it running by a server swithc my the fine folks of Lunarpages!

Tell them to switch you over to the Heze server, with has Sablotron enabled, which is required to run Orca!

I have the same issue on my site at www.dmelectronics.us however I found out that it has an issue with the banner system.  If I do not use the banner system then my forum works.  If I place a banner then I get a blank page.

You've got more problems than that..
