Wrong time...

Hi Guys,

Sorry to sound like a complete n00b, I'm generally quite good - I mean I've got a Dolphin/Orca/Ray install going well and all the users are loving it apart from one thing, which is really grinding my gears - the time.

It's currently 12:44pm here, Dolphin says it's 04:42am.

I can't find any settings ANYWHERE to change the time, or I assume the timezone. Any one out there have a clue how to fix this before I go mad and start sleeping during the day?

Many thanks!

Is the time set correctly on the server?

See, that was my second thought - but I can't see anywhere on my hosting panel (dreamhost) to change the date and/or time.

Hmm.

Ask the support  .....

Right,

Got a somewhat short and sharp email back from support saying that I need to set the timezone in my .htaccess file.

Guess I need to work out how to do that!

Duh  .....  forgot about that  .....

Open your .htaccess file and add the following line:
SetEnv TZ location

where location is the specific timezone you want to define.

A list of Supported Timezones can be found here:

Hmm, I stuck SetEnv TZ Europe/London at the top of my .htaccess file but have noticed no difference, is it perhaps specified elsewhere in the dolphin php files?

Depending on how your host is setup, and usually if you are on shared hosting there is not much you can do at present time to off set any time zones in dolphin. Hopefully in the future this will be a possibility. If you have vps or dedicated you can accomplish this easily.

Certainly worth a try adding a time zone to .htaccess, but in shared hosting this usually don't happen. Currently if on shared hosting you will be stuck in the time zone where the server is setup and the time zone is defined by the host.

Good Luck!!
