WorldMap

I am brand new to Dolphin and am working to get the WorldMap functioning.  I have an API created and entered but it still throws the MissingKeyMapError at me.  Is there something that I am missing in another area?

This is new Google changes, according to this news:

http://googlegeodevelopers.blogspot.com.au/2016/06/building-for-scale-updates-to-google.html

So all new domains are affected.

We've created an issue for this problem and will work on it as soon as possible:

Thank you for the quick response.  Shouldn't this issue be avoided by my using the API Key in the module?

No, for some reason it isn't applied or it has to be used some other way. This is going to be fixed.

Subscribe to the github bug report and you'll receive an update when it is worked on or fixed.

Boonex know the urgent nature of this problem so it will only be a matter of time before it's fixed.

Nothing wrong with pushing them along or if you can assist, do so.

I am also a newbie, but learning quickly and I think a bit out of the box. Looking at the GitHub and aren't these changes in v7.3.2, already? Also, wouldn't the uninstall.sql need to be changed in order to modify the MySQL db correctly if you uninstall the module?

Not sure if I'm having the same issue (see attached). Help Alex, please. Can't figure it out.

Thanks

Only way I got it to work is, I had to fill out the billing at google. Give them your card.. Then for some reason it worked for me.. So took out the map..

So, their free option wants your credit card information? Seems like the dating site ***FREE*** join option. Free with monthly credit card charges. Hahaha..........

Let me poke around and see if that is the only option. Thanks, TruckingSpace

If possible maybe someone who has this working can spend about 5-10min. on a quick writeup to educate us on what parts of this need to be completed for the world map module to function. Mine seems to work for a quick second and then it flashes with the error message.

After applying the fix I would suggest the following guide to generate Google Maps Key:

That is what was going on with my site. Tried every thing even a server key. Nothing worked. Thought it was the boonex code. But since it flashed I knew it was not the code. Then I read you get a bit more if you have a card on file. So I tried that and it started working. Don't know if it was just my account at google over the limit. But they have not charged me YET...

Looked through the files and all those fixes are there already, and I applied a key already. Not working.

Got it working finally after a few attempts and other changes that I had to get, and went back and took a look afterwards.

1. Made sure I let Google confirm ownership of my domain.

2. The I put in referrers  (domain, url's of my domain)

3. Applied key and it worked.

I think it didn't work before because I couldn't allow Google to verify domain ownership reason being, before I assigned my own domain I was using vendor sub.domain.com until I got everything all setup and installed therefore my belief is that made the difference. Hope this helps others.

Alex, those fixes are in 7.3.2 already I made sure of that, I think most people who have issues will be related to something about their domain.

7.3.3 I have the small maps working on profiles but the big map on the search page does not show. Any ideas?

I've tried:

1. Renewing my API key.

2. Changing to version 3.26 and version 3.27.

3. Clearing cache and browser cache after each change to see results.

Had it appear briefly using "3" and "3.exp" but the next time the page is refreshed it's gone again.

oh, and it's not showing the place holders on the small maps. I don't know if that's relevant or not.

Works in the admin, with place holders showing!

@Custheyder

Please apply the following fix:

https://github.com/boonex/dolphin.pro/commit/4037f819e6c601684dc64155161c095e14983f98

Then clear JS cache
