Since web browsers are disabling flash by default, I want to strip my site of flash. Even if it means losing some features, what do I do to get rid of flash?

To get rid of Flash then you need to do the following (as I remember): - uninstall all Flash apps from Admin Panel > Modules > Flash Apps - uninstall the following modules from Admin Panel > Modules > Add & Manage: Chat, Messenger, Whiteboard, Desktop - disable the following uploaders in Admin Panel > Modules > Photos|Videos|Sounds > Settings > Available Uploaders: record Rules → http://www.boonex.com/terms |
I am not sure about first topic, "uninstall Flash apps", within the flash apps is no option to uninstall anything. I've disabled all, uninstalled the modules, disabled the uploader but still it shows a flash warning. Flash apps are showing in the admin panel still, even they are completely disabled. |

@AlexT fine with all this but a few questions
Chat: Assume this is the older chat and has no impact to the chat+, correct? Messenger: again, I'm guessing no impact on the mail or greetings part of the site Uploaders record: If this is removed does that mean users have no way to "record" video using their webcam? If so are there alternatives we can use (other than flash) so users can still record.
Thanks for the information... |

Yes, Chat+ will still function. Messenger: again, I'm guessing no impact on the mail or greetings part of the site
Yes - Mail, Greetings and Simple Messenger will till function. Uploaders record: If this is removed does that mean users have no way to "record" video using their webcam? If so are there alternatives we can use (other than flash) so users can still record.
Yes, users will no be able to record from webcam. There is no build-in alternative, however it maybe there are some 3rd-party modules which provides such functionality. Rules → http://www.boonex.com/terms |
