Will Dolphin 6.1.6 be upgradable to Dolphin 7?

I am thinking of launching a dolphin site.

I am wondering if 6.1.6 be upgradable to Dolphin version 7 when it comes out?

I will wait if it's not possible to upgrade to version 7, otherwise I would like to launch soon using version 6.1.6

Thank you for your help.

Regards,

RK

all this modifications and upgrades to 6.1.5/ 6.1.6 are designed in a way so that you will be able to upgrade to D7.

Who knows, there might be even 6.1.7 before D7 comes to the folks.

I upgraded from 6.14 to 6.15,,I'm not going to grade to 6.16...I would figure that D7 would have all updates and the upgrade includes everything ...It's a headache if I have to upgrade from 6.14-to-6.15-to6.16-to6.17-to6.18-to-6.19-toD7,,I mean for real,,come one...

Sure, it might be that there will be upgrades from 6.1.2 and so on to D7, but I do belief that this is the way for smooth working site.

Any way, we all will find out in the near future.

I'm a bit confused and uncertain about this myself.

UnoBoonex mentioned somewhere here that there is some sharing of codes between D7 and D6, which implies that there is an upgrade path between them.  It is D8 which will be a complete rewrite, from the ground up.

But I also gathered from someone's who's a Dolphin expert that there is no upgrade path between D6 and D7.

So ... ???

We need some light over here, please ... people who are in the know please beam that light in here.

"Hookie is based on Dolphin 6.1 (Spunky), but has been re-worked to an extent that they are almost absolutely different."
