Why would I want to run UNA ?

Can someone please tell me why i would want to run UNA .  All i got out of that software demo was every year i had to pay more money to run app's .  I know these companies have to make money BUT constantly sticking your hand in the customers pocket isn't really a good idea, especially when they use your software as a hobby....

Can anyone tell me why i would run it ? i just don't see the benefit .

I can't give you an answer on this.  Maybe Newton will come in and give his reasons why he is using UNA for some of his gaming sites.

Personally I don't have any plans on using UNA because what I have seen of it helping others is that it stinks.  The Studio is a horrible admin interface.  It was touted at first as being a more user friendly platform that you would not need to hire developers and now I see all the new additions where you will need to hire a developer if you are not a server person.  JOT messenger, if you are just an end user without tech skills you will be hiring a developer; unless Boonex is going to give away free installation of JOT.  Chat+, you will need to hire a server person unless again Boonex is going to give away free installation.

I think some jumped on it because they thought it was going to be more of a mobile platform but I have logged in with mobile devices and I don't see any great differences there either.

We are currently testing Una and it is a good product.

However, the administration area is a bit confusing.

It is an excellent product for mobiles and tablets.

The photo system is well built.

We are waiting for the rest.

I don't see the future in it as well. All i saw was a better way for boonex to get reoccurring fee's. To bad they didn't spend that dev money on dolphin , might have seen some future moves there...

At one time they were going to change how Dolphin worked as far as pricing and modules.  They were thinking of removing the licensing on the core platform and make the modules paid as they are on UNA.  I have not heard any more about this.  They were going to let current Dolphin licenses get the modules without paying extra.

This is still the case. Right now we are converting anyone's Dolphin permanent license into a lifetime Pro plan ($50/mo normally) to UNA at no extra fee. Once we release UNA v9 we plan to update Dolphin with JOT Messenger and some improvements and re-align the licensing to match it with UNA scheme.
