Where is the 'simple messenger' or messenger?

can anyone point me in the right direction to activate it? Or is it automatic? I can see a profile/block/icon for it anywhere

First, ensure both have been properly installed from administration, tools, modules. The Simple Messenger is a light-weight messenger that is located in the member bar, which appears whenever someone sends you a message via the text area under their profile or avatar menu that says "chat." Alternatively, you can use the full-featured messenger by following the same steps, the only difference is clicking the "video chat" button, instead. The option to use the full messenger is also available on the top of every conversation in the simple messenger.

thanks for your reply. but is there like a button/tab for it? Because this is what I cant see. It says that the messenger is installed. Or does it only appear when someone actually starts a chat.

Because if this is the case, something isnt right as there is no option on the profile to request a chat/send chat/messenger.

If you cannot see these two areas, then that means they are either not installed, or the person is not online.

is there a way to change the font color of the chat window? ,. my template has a off white back ground and the chat font is gray. kinda hard to read it.

Im facing the same problem. However, it can be fixed by installing the following module:

<Desktop version 1.0.9>

It's available in the default version.
