What to do first

Will Dolphin 6 run on my Mac OS X? I plan to host at Arvixe.com. How do I do this, do I get hosting first, then a licensed copy of Dolphin and upload it, my domain name is at GoDaddy.com waiting right now. How do I set up Dolphin, I would like to use a template I found on Playbox Design but their site doesn't work. I want to get the 14 month Dolphin license and the $22. per month business hosting at Arvixe.com. Is there an online set up page or do I do it from a program on my local machine? Will this work on my Mac OS X. Will I get a Manual .pdf with my Dolphin download.

What do I do first?

The OS on your computer does not matter when it comes to viewing Dolphin, but yes you can access your site using a Mac. Here are my suggestions:

1) Contact the host of your interest via email and make sure they support Dolphin requirements and provide RMS for D7 (Dolphin 7 also in case you upgrade)

2) Find the domain name you want and register (can possibly do this at your host's site and possible for free when you purchase a web hosting package)

3) Purchase the web hosting package that fits your budget.

4) Download the version of Dolphin of your choice (Would recommend version 7)

5) Purchase the license of your choice from Unity (not required but will remove the boonex ads and "powered by" links)

6) Upload the Dolphin package contents your web host and navigate to www.yoursite.com/install and follow the instructions

Should be good to go. It is always wise to do some research with several hosting companies before making your choice.

Thanks Chris,

1) I have contacted Arvixe.come to host. Waiting to hear.

2) Registered my domain name yesterday at GoDaddy.com. It is parked there.

3) Will purchase when Arvixe tells me what I need.

4) So I should download D7 to start? I will try to start with D7.

5) Will purchase the 14 month $99. license to get rid of the BoonEx links.

6) Understood

How about Templates/Skins? I like one on Playbox.com but their site is down?

This help a lot, Thanks again,

John

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
