What stops the + Add New ... from working?

Hi,

For some odd reason, when I click "+" on the bottom right of the screen, I just get a:

+ Add New ...

which when clicking on does nothing.

I know it's supposed to pop up like this:

but have no idea why that doesn't work that way for me.

Does anyone know what would stop this from working? right at this moment I cannot change the "profile status message" which is annoying.

I had similar problem, it turned out to be the browser. I updated and suddenly it stopped. I also had similar problem with the + button for the photos, videos ect it just did nothing, all stopped when i updated. Did you try a different browser to see if its a browser issue?

Could be a javascript issue. PM me with the details, i will have a look at it for you.

Yes I tried 3 different browsers and same problem.

So what I did was clear all caches, restart the web server, made sure no javascript was left in any caches, then refreshed browser window and all OK.

Many thanks to the both of you, clearing the Javascript was the fix.

Hi kevinmitnick. I actually did more testing and it doesn't have anything to do with the javascript, it's actually memcached. When you "Enable  DB cache" and set it to memcached, the "+ Add New" doesn't show a menu, remove memcached and put it on "File", even with Enable DB cache still enabled, the menu pops up.

This seems like a bug?

Hi Alex. Thanks again for raising this.The workaround was just to remove memcache from the DB cache and leave it on File.

It would be good to get the memcached support working properly though so have subscribed to the Git bug for updates.
