What happened to the video recorder?

I haven't worked that much with videos on my applications so forgive me if this is a dumb question, but what happened to the ray video recorder?   Didn't this let you independently record a video?  - are members supposed to use a third party application now?   I know D7 can record a video in video comments, but what if you just want to record one to upload?  A menu item or a button on the account page that did this would be nice.

It's still there.  Go to your video albums and click to add a video.  From the "choose uploader" drop down select Record.  Now the video recorder will show up and you can record whatever naughty thing you're doing Surprised

I'm not doing anything naughty- except maybe trying to record an inept business presentation.  I do appreciate the information, though I do think it is rather a well hidden function.  Still playing with it, but I wish there was something simpler - like a "record video" button on the account page (hint hint to mod developers).

Rob

p.s.  Also trying to get the hang of this "albums" thing - shouldn't/couldn't there be a default album - in my case I want one called "business presentation" - is there a way to do that?

p.s.s.  The record video seems to work at first, but when I stop it I get a "connection error" message - anyone know why?

I think that would make a great mod.

also there is a default album created that's called <usernames>'s videos.  I believe the default album videos shown on profile page pull from that album.  Now if you create an album is there a way to make it your default album, no there isn't any option for that.  The user can select which album they want to put videos in when they upload the video..

As for the connection error something is wrong with your RMS?  Did you update to RMS3.  I tested it and it works for me.
