Video Record Does Not Work...

anywhere.  Even trying to record a 5 second video, results in a perpetual 'processing' screen.

I complained about this a lot before.. now it works really well with 7.0.5.  Rayz installed RMS 7.0.5 for me and it's beautiful.  I recorded 3 mins long and it took less than 10 secs to complete the process.  I'm not sure what's your problem is.  Make sure you have the most recent RMS for 7.0.5.

well HL that could possibly be a problem, because i have no knowledge of an RMS 7.0.5, did you ?

yeah just went and looked at the downloads, and i am not seeing an RMS 7.0.5? anybody else have information on RMS 7.0.5?

i just tested this with the old and new rms server....   when i have h264 checked for video comments it takes forever for the video to convert...  1 minute video.  when i uncheck h264 it still takes a while but not as long.   

video comments on 7.0.4 amd 7.0.3  encode in about 10 seconds for a one minute video.

ill send over my rms details to you again so you can see if thats the problem or not.

yeah i notice that.. I have no idea.  Rayz told me he installed RMS 7.0.5 with most recent RED5.

I have h264 unchecked and it's really fast. I say between 5-10 seconds to process for 3 mins long video record

I tried your RMS settings, and had the same results.... just a perpetual 'processing' screen, even for 5 second record attempt

HL, did you ever find any way to make this work?  By my watch it's a year later and I never did.  Local wamp, shared, vps, dedicated, I tried them all. If only ONE of the many forum posts would come to a conclusion, I'd give up fast cars, women AND drinking.

What version of Dolphin are you using? I don't think it worked correctly until somewhere around 7.0.6.

Also does your normal video upload processing work?

Thanks for response mscott.  Dolphin is 7.0.9 with RMS_LINUX_7.0.4.  Both latest packages on getboonex.  Server is vps with Ubuntu 11.04 vps.  Tried 1.6 and 1.7 flavours of java - same result.

Normal video upload processing works a treat, also chat, livecam etc run perfectly. Only thing I can't get to work is record (video or video comment).  

My only clue is (using ./red5.sh) rms will throw a warning "Tag was not written" after I stop recording and as it starts to process.  There was an old ticket more than a year for a similar thing but it was closed "fixed".  Maybe it's my webcam!! :)     

That's odd. Normally everything that uses RMS works or none of them work. It's usually one or the other. 

I guess it's possible it's your webcam but I thought they all pretty much used the same protocol.  

No it's not the webcam :)  Possible it's the red5 build used for RMS because there were similar issues on red5 (trac.red5.org).  But I expect the boonex developers keep RMS up to date with patches to red5 code.  Don't they?

Just needs right cron, right permissions, right ffmpeg ... and hours of patience while a 60 second record processes.  But it "works" nevertheless.

.. thinks just maybe possibly might have to give up the vices as promised, damn!!!  There's not a word for this dumb that's allowed in a public forum.

Hi, I have used Arvixe hosting for a new install of Dolphin in order to test with a view to using for a live site. Unfortunately, I have had the same issue regarding recording a video comment on a profile. Web Cam comes on, records but then just says processing. Arvixe support tell me that I need to take this up with boonex (after 1 week I might add!). I have now cancelled my account with Arvixe as I was not impressed with their support at all. Before I attempt to host with an alternative (recommended boonex hosting company), has anyone got this facility working and if so, with which hosting company.

I am a new user and I have version 7.0.9 of Dolphin and am having exactly the same problem as amakhehla  with the Video Comment!

I do not think this is a hosting problem since all the other flash applications work very well.

Personally I am quite disappointed because the Video Comment was for me a very important option!

Will there be a developer that will help us find the solution at that problem one day?

Is your video chat working? Most people who have this problem it's because they don't have RMS installed or it isn't installed correctly.

Does your Video Comment works well and if so, which version of Java and Dolphin are installed on your server?

My Dolphin version is 7.0.9

My JRE version is 1.7.0_04

If anyone can help me, thank you in advance!
