Video Comments File Not Found in 7.1

I get a " File not found" error when trying to post a video comment in 7.1   It connects and records and converts ( I can see the .flv and view it after I download from the server but Dolphin does not find it for the post.

Thanks

It maybe it is related to this bug - http://www.boonex.com/trac/dolphin/ticket/2982

Just try to record another comment, it should work.

I'm not using the Admin (ID#1) to try and record the video comment and it has been happening long before any upgrade or reset. After Arvixe support restarts my RMS does the app work. but then after a few days its down again. It has been doing this thru two upgrades prior to 7.1.

Anyway I did try another VC as you suggested and they both still come up as "File not Found"

[edit] after reading this post and ticket 2982, it is the admin that is not able to post video comments.

tested user account and the video comment posted perfect.

Can you confirm that when we setup our RMS server, and copy ffmpeg.exe there, is that the one that processes the video comments. If so, that means I'm watching the wrong server for video conversion.

I just installed my new RMS as well, I get a record and preview. When I post it states "video not processed yet" as it should but after while it changes to "file not found."

Watching the server using "top" I never see ffmeg.exe start.

I finally got a response from Arvixe ... they say they are running RMS for 7.0 - (they found it stable. Unfortunately it is not available on shared servers. No idea if that is 'available yet' or just 'not available'...

Thanks... I can sleep now.

Finally got Arvixe to upgrade their RMS and I'm still having the same problem and I'm not using the Admin account.

They upgraded to 7.1 on my shared server to try help sort out this problem. I was told it was not compulsory to upgarde to VPS or dedicated. They might have done that for me as a favor since I've been struggling with this for so long.

I think the problem is not related to http://www.boonex.com/trac/dolphin/ticket/2982 in all cases.

I just run into the same problem, but i am using 7.0.9. Video comments are uploaded but right after processing it tells me "File not found" when i press submit. I never tested video comments before, lol.

My server access log shows this when it finishs uploading.

GET /flash/modules/video_comments/files/4_temp.jpg?127500 HTTP/1.1" 200 25759 "https://www.example.com/flash/modules/global/app/holder_as3.swf

and in /flash/modules/video_comments/files/ these files exist

4_temp.flv
4_temp.jpg
4_temp_small.jpg

When i press submit these files get renamed to

7_temp.flv
7_temp.jpg
7_temp_small.jpg

and a new one appears named

7.mp4

I guess this is created by ffmpeg doing its job. But this file never gets finished, it always has 0 Bytes and the email i get from ffmpeg (cron) tells lots "codec not found"...... See attached text file. Maybe the problem is because the video comments have no sound?

In table RayVideo_commentsFiles the video is marked as "failed"

ID Categories Title Uri Tags Description Time Date Owner Views Status
7         30 0 1364579461 4 0 failed

You have old ffmpeg which doesn't understand some codecs.

Also you can't use new ffmpeg from 7.1 in 7.0.9 because new ffmpeg doesn't understand old deprecates parameters which was using in old version, you will also need to rewrite conversion parameters.

So it is better to consider upgrading to the latest 7.1.x.

I did and am still having the same problem.... with no real solution in sight...

Things to check:

- correct ffmpeg binary for your OS

- cronjobs

- Ray/Flash Media Server

- admin panel > tools > host tools

 ok... thanks.

I have RMS 7.1

my cron runs every minute

how do I check if I have the correct ffmpeg binary?

and on top of all that I cant get into my site all of a sudden.

I get:

Warning: require_once() [function.require-once]: It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. You are *required* to use the date.timezone setting or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier.  Hi Alex, I don't understand, I use ffmpeg that came with 7.0.9. Or is it a problem with newest RMS you published? I also tried the old version which also doesn't work. so I don't understand the term "old version" I use the files that came with 7.0.9 and switching to 7.1 is absolutely impossible right now. maybe in 6-8 month. so I need a solution or I have to turn this feature off.

for me it looks like a coding bug because the first conversion from flv into m4v works. just the next one stops with 0 bytes progress

I found the problem. The PC that i tested it on does not have a sound card, so the flash app is adding no audio stream in it. It is not about an incompatible codec, it is because the conversion breaks if there is no audio stream present.

In case a silly user deactivated his soundcard is it possible to force the conversion with some parameter of ffmpeg even no sound is available?

On 7.0.9 it works perfect now. I just need find a solution to force a conversion.

Edit: Looks like this is not possible, there is only the -an option to ignore the audio streams. So the only solution would be to change the app. Can i download the source of the 7.0.9 flash app from somewhere?

Doesn't apply to my situation. I'm on a mac. my audio records - I hear it playback in preview. The file is still "Not Found"

I'm having this problem and got this from my tech support- any words of wisdom?

"After the thoroughly testing the script and also installing a clean instance of the samethe issue is still present. The actual video conversion works fine as the files for the video comment are recorded and saved under the proper directory:

flash/modules/video_comments/files

However despite the fact that the files are available the Dolphin instance in question will show "FILE NOT FOUND" error. As this issue is related with the functions of the application which should add properly the video comment file name the same is considered as development related. The only option to have this patched is to contact the application developers or an expert local web developer. They should be able to debug the application coding and patch the function which will not properly add the video comments. Unfortunately we do not offer development services at this point to debug the application function further for you.

As for the RMS system the latest 7.1 release is installed as recommended from the Boonex developers but despite the fact it seems there are still issues with the script which the authors of the same should resolved.

Should you have any further questions or comments please do not hesitate to contact us."

Best regards"

Anyone anyone?  I really wanna get this fixed.

Video comments are handled and converted with an RMS server.

If you set the settings in the flash section and pointed to the correct ports it should have worked.

Video comments are a horrible mess because of the quality; once you get it working you will see.
