Maybe with the Dolphin Pro 10 release Boonex will consider changes to the way they handle upgrades and patches. For one, every time there is an upgrade, all the module versions changes even if there are no changes in the modules. The update simply goes and changes the version number listed in the config file and the database. At the very least, to make it easier on developers Boonex could manage a change list. That way a developer can look at the change list and see which modules where there were code and database changes. That way when a new version is released and we are applying updates I can see which modules I have to consider; "OK, the video and the sounds modules were changed; all other modules have the same code and database structure."
As for recaptcha , it is troublesome for end users; I hate those bloody things and it has been hacked so if you are relying on recaptcha for stopping unwanted sign-ups think again. I particularly despise those "choose all the tiles with signs, cars, etc." You end up having to go through several sets and you try to guess, "Is that tiny corner of the sign considered a tile with a sign?" I don't use it on my site and I don't know when the last time I got a spammer on the site.
