Users can not edit their own posts in forum

Hi,

At my site users cannot edit their own forum posts or threads. I've found in the membership editor an option to allow users to edit posts, but I've found out that this will allow users to edit ALL posts in the forum. I want users to edit their own posts. Is there a fix for this or some setting that I haven't found? Administrators can edit easy.

And old post but in case it is of some use to someone; there is a time limit on when users can edit their posts.  Increase the time limit.
