Upgrading to 7RC1

hey guys,

I have been testing and customising my D7RC1 for a week or so now, and now ready to ship it out accross as my main site.

Currently my D6 site is on the root of my domain, and the new D7 is in a sub directory (called /rc) So i did a test move of the site as i had some instructions that were posted here that said i just have to move the files to where i want them to be, then Correct site_url and file path in inc/header.inc.php file for new values. Edit variables $site['url'] and $dir['root'] for the values of where it is now.

I did this. The site now loads fine in the new directory, however, pictures don't load, videos cannot be found (this takes me to a page http://mydomain.com/m/data_migration/administration/) which in the RC directory it works fine, but out of this it does, i've checked and it is copying the folders over and nothing is left in the previous directory.

Have i missed something? or done something wrong that you can see? kinda going crazy with this, copied the files back to the RC directory and its all working fine again.

The data migration worked in the /RC/ Folder, just when i moved it, it shows that there is 940 pics just doesnt show them.

I'm sure its a something i havent changed properly, the data appears to be in the right direction.

Really strange

Why didn't you just change your DNS to reflect the subdirectory where the site actually is?  For example, if you have it at yoursite.com/community then change the DNS so that when someone types yoursite.com it automatically takes them to the correct subdirectory?

I was considering that as my final option. probably a lot easier than changing everything else hey.
