Upgrading from B1 to B2

I've read here where others have upgraded from B1 to B2 without problem so I must be stupid.

Step two in the upgrade instruction say...

Remove the upgrade/.htaccess file via FTP or SSH.

Make sure that you removed .htaccess file from "upgrade" directory! Do not remove .htaccess file from Dolphin root folder, it will make almost all links on the site not working'''

NOTE: You may need to change your FTP client settings to show hidden files to see the .htaccess file in your FTP manager.

Uhmm...  There is no "upgrade" folder in the B2 zip file.  There IS one in the B1 zip file but it gets deleted when you run the "remove unused files" routine at the end of the upgrade.

Step 3

Delete the following folder manually via FTP or SSH:

templates/tmpl_uni/images/zodiac/

To do it - go to templates/tmpl_uni/images/ directory and delete zodiac folder inside it.

This was no problem but check out between step 3 and step 4....

Step 4

Apply all available updates. The script detects suitable updates automatically.  What updates?  What script?  Even if they are referring to the update script in the non existing upgrade folder, they don't tell you that.

Can someone please tell me how to get B2 installed please?

Thanks,
Mel

You must make sure you download the patch and not the full version. The patch is different and contains the upgrade folder. The full version does not.

The link to the patch you need to download is in STEP 1 of the upgrade instructions. http://get.boonex.com/Dolphin-Patch-v.7.1.0.B2

Second issue. DO NOT MOVE ON TO ANY OF THE OTHER STEPS UNTIL THE PREVIOUS ONES ARE COMPLETED.

Based on what i read here, you proceeded to step 3 without doing step 2. You cannot do stuff like that. You have to follow steps in order and stop if one cannot be completed.

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
The new Dolphin solution is powered by UNA Community Management System.
