Upgrade went well to 7.1 except language compile

Hi all!  I followed the b2 to 7.1 upgrade instructions to the letter and everything seems to be working fine. I went into the forums and re-compiled the language for english and yet I still get this type of text in the forums:

Could someone please tell me how to correct?

Thanks!

Go to your forum, click on manage forum, and then compile languages and see if that fixes the problem.

Oops!  I read that too quickly; I thought they had recompiled languages in the backend.  Me bad.

I had a problem with the forum language thing back when I first started with Dolphin.  I ended up reinstalling the forum module (there was no data) and it fixed it.  Of course you don't want to do that on a working forum as it will dump the tables.

I don't have the knowledge with the function of the language keys to help here.

This usually happens when your using a 3rd party template.

Thanks for all the replies and sorry for my delay in responding.  I did clear all the cache... both from the Dolphin admin side, as well as the FTP side (of course, leaving .htaccess in place when in the directory) ...and still the 'uncompiled' look.  I am using a third party template, but I can easily uinstall and reinstall forums to see if this works; there is no data yet.

I am surprised that is the only problem I've had!  lol

Hope everyone had a good New Years!

check your folder permissions the re-compiled forum option won't work if it can't write the files

Thanks for the information.  What area should I be checking for permissions at?  The forum to forums, itself, or the particular template, etc? And should it be read, write or read, write and execute?

Thanks!

When you un installed the forums, must have wiped out the folders.

Remember, using 3rd party templates requires a "layout" folder to be upload to the directory I mentioned above.
