Upgrade to 7.4.2 from 7.3.5; boonex forum fails

An upgrade from Dolphin 7.3.5 to 7.4.2 has a Boonex forum failing when trying to access it in admin.

An uncaught exception was thrown

The files in the en directory are old files.  How can I purge these and correct the issue?  Deleting isn't an answer because then it fails with file not found.  I have recompiled languages from the language section as well as clicking on manage modules and then clicking on the forum and choosing recompile language.

I don't really understand the forum that well; I just wrote over the old files with the new and that worked; forum now loads.

Hello geek_girl!

As mysql_connect function doesn't exist in boonex/forum files it looks like the upgrade procedure hasn't been completed properly.

Thank you.  This upgrade was done on a clone of the site for testing.  Will be doing an upgrade on the live site in a few days so will see if it occurs again.

Yes, the upgrade was performed correctly.  This has happened again on the live site.

I don't think I've ever had an upgrade go smoothly with Dolphin.
