Upgrade to 7.1

I would like to upgrade my dolphin 7.0 to 7.1. There is a link in the dashboard in admin to do it, but I was wondering if I clicked on the link is that all I have to do to upgrade my site to 7.1? Should I back up the site? Is there anything else I have to do to upgrade the site besides just clicking this link In the dashboard in admin?

Kindest regards,

Chuxstir

 Yes there's is a lot to read about.
7.0.?  what 7.0.9 or some earlier version. You can only upgrade from 7.0.9 to 7.1

ftp
/inc/header.inc.php
$site['ver']               = '7.0';
$site['build']             = '8';

You want to backup the entire site; files and all; better safe than sorry, and back up the database.  If anything goes wrong, you want to be able to get back to where you started.

You should see this on your dashboard. If you don't then you have a really old version.

So if you have a old version, then find your version using prolaznic's way.

O.K. we have site version 7.0. We also have build number 0. So how do we upgrade to 7.0 build number 9 so we can upgrade to 7.1 with the link in the admin dashboard?

Thanks again,

Chuxstir

WOW. You running a version that old. 1112 days old to be exact.

You would need to update incrementally.

First to 7.0.1 then to 7.0.2, then to 7.0.3, ect all the way up to 7.0.9 before you can proceed to the 7.1 updates.

I do not have links to all of those old patch files. Maybe someone else here does.

Your most likely going to find this task a bit overwhelming. You really should have kept more up to date. You running a version that has hundreds of bugs that have been fixed over the last 1112 days.

How possible would it be to install 7.1 fresh and then migrate the database and files over from 7.0 to 7.1?
