Unistall failure of module - Develop claim Bug in Dolphin

Hello,

when from Tools section in Admin I try to uninstall a purchased Video Albums (Cinema) module it fails, see attached picture.

Developer says since there are no dependencies in his module it is a bug in Dolphin.

How do I clean out any trace of this module?

"My module doesn't have any dependences. You even can confirm it in the config file:

modules\aramis\video\install\config.php

    /**
    * Dependencies Section
    */
    'dependencies' => array(),

I think that Dolphin thinks that he should remove default Videos module (the name of my module: video)."

Can't tell much from that small, solid  gray square you posted.

Yes, that was one shitty pic. Sorry about that.

Checked this one and its fine.

Don't want to have to uninstall other modules or loose data.

Should this be reported as a bug

and

how can I get the module completely removed without uninstalling other modules or risking messing something up?

Reporting it as a bug is pointless. In all the years i have been working with dolphin i have never seen this happen, nor have i seen the specific issue shown in your screenshot reported by anyone else. You can't find a bug that cannot be reproduced. Something else must have caused this to happen.

If the module has no dependencies, then for some reason dependencies ended up in the database.

Those are in the table sys_modules

For some reason that module is appearing in the dependency field of every module in your failure list.

So you will have to remove that module from the dependency list being very careful not to remove any other dependencies that are there.

Then you need to find the module itself in that table and empty its dependency field.

It may be best you hire someone to do that unless you are really comfortable working with the database. You can really screw things up if you do this wrong. Given this is a touchy area to be playing with, i suggest you do a full database backup before you attempt it.

Once this is done, the module should uninstall.

Thank you!

I should probably get myself a "handy man" to fix these kind of things.

I'll check out the Job section to see if there's someone affordable talent there to hire.
