This is the support forum for the Ultimate Groups mod.

Hi.  During upgrade of mod - getting error running sqlupdate.   Groups tab is displaying Database query error.

START .....

UPDATING DATABASE .....

When I invite a non member to my group via the email form and click on the "accept invitation" link in the email, at the top of the page  I get this result:

The issue has been fixed. Download again and re-apply the version_1.0.5 patch.

Please utilize the Private Messaging system for any request not related to the Groups mod. This forum is strictly for support of the Groups mod.

What was the solution to this?  I'm experiencing the same issue?  and I never received an e-mail to the bug report address.

The solution to that would be to redownload the product and apply the latest patch as noted above. 

Work smarter by reading more and you will not sweat when you plug in your modem.

Just have installed the mod and I can not see the block at homepage and it doesn't show the recently featured groups at groups home. At ..../groups/browse/featured I can see the group.

I did uninstall and reinstall the group module, still same issue.

I cleared cache from admin and at the cp within the 3 nessery folders

Groups home and homepage will show public access groups only. Therefore, if you do not have any groups with their privacy set to public access then nothing will show in these places.

Any plans on adding support for group events, either as part of this mod or available as a supplement?

Any plans to be compatible for Dolphin 7.0.6.  I had a previous version of Dolphin and now that my site had to be upgraded, the Ultimate Groups Module is not compatible with Dolphin 7.0.6.

There is also a Premium Groups mod with Events. You can pay the price difference to upgrade.

so the new mod is the replacement for the ultimate groups?  If so what is the price difference?

All my mods are compatible with Dolphin 7.0.6. State exactly what problem you are having.

It is not a replacement. Both mods are still being sold. Price difference is the difference in cost of both mods. PM me for payment details if you wish to upgrade to Premium Groups.

Hi Modzzz, will you be releasing a patch for the forums privacy issue with groups?

New Actions suggestion:

Add Polls... with the restrictions that only group admins can create / delete a poll and only group members ("Fans") can view / vote on it.  

Admin Options (if they don't involve complex programming): 

1) results can be viewed immediately after a vote is cast _OR_ withheld until either all group members ("Fans") have voted or the polling period ends.

2) once cast, votes cannot be changed _OR_ votes can be change or deleted (but only while polling is running)

Boonex Groups appeared in the modules 2 possible menus and I installed ultimate groups and it caused an error as follows when the groups were clicked on...

checkAction() fatal error. Unknown action ID: 0       I opened a ticket from my support ticket system and asked you to take a look at it.  I have not heard a word from you since I asked if you can't fix it to remove it.  I would appreciate if you would handle this issue as it has been a week since I opened the support ticket system...

You messed up the site by running the sqlupdate.php twice. I have fixed the issue. Please use this support forum for further assistance. I will no longer login to any client's individual support area to handle any mod related issues.

hi...this is the same issue as was with the Events module a while back..here is what was posted in the Events support

Feature request... please add folders so groups with a large number of files can organizer them better.

FEATURE REQUEST - 

Please add the ability for a site member to include a group or groups in a drop-down list where the site member(s) can simply check (there must be a check box in front of the group name) the check box so that a post can be shared automatically with all the groups (and also Community Pages if possible) with a check box.  For example, let's say I belong to a specific group of car restoration enthusiasts, and I have a post that I would like to share with a group in California, a group in Los Angeles, a group in Alaska, etc.  Then I should be able to click on the check box in front of these groups but would need to share the post only once,  and not individually with each group.

Another feature request would be the ability of a site member to ban anyone from viewing and/or joining any group if the banned individual has been blocked by the site member.

Adjustment has been made to accommodate integration with the Group Page Customizer mod. Download and replace the following file :

  modules\boonex\groups\classes\BxGroupsModule.php

 I second this feature request.  Also, add folders to sounds and photo.

This mod has been discontinued and is replaced by the more advanced Premium Groups module. All existing licence holders can contact me for a free upgrade.
