URGENT IN NEED OF HELP

I have worked with dolphin 7 since october of this year and found the entire structure of the software to rather excellent ,but I am to the point now that I have to ask these questions ?

  • 1. Is there any way possible to get support on critical issues at hand rather than waiting 24 hours to 48 hours to get a response ?
My Problem : After endless hours of reading and searching as of yesterday ,My site was near completion ,and as of this morning I added the "my top friends " module to the site as directed in the installation proceedure , and I guess with the intergration of other safe modules involved in the site itself ,it caused a major conflict , the memmbers that have created blocks in their own profile ,have disappeared and is labeled as inactive on the admin side , but the my top friends works fine .so in retrospect i look stupid for trying to incorporate something that the community wanted ! Now I am sitting in dead water until i get a response .

  • 2. questionable  TINY_MCE , Well to my knowledge of this this working for the government as a network engineer , In every aspect of the profile it works ,with the exception of the profile comments , Yes I have read the horror stories of html coded images in the comment section /via myspace/facebook and others , but rather individuals fine this as a security factor or not ,should be left up to the person, that is pouring the monies in to the site and license ,to have what they want .
Overview of this subject : currently on our site you can copy and paste a pic from any site "ie photobucket" and it works fine ,(point) even a copy and paste pic has a linked code ,such as url/html..so why is it like pulling teeth to get dolphin to incorporate this as it has in other modules and why is the TINY_MCE at bare bones , In retrospect if people just wanted to send text ,they would go with the white label society facebook or twitter .
I fully agree that php has a renowned future and i quite understand the coding itself at times can be horrible ,But come on guys and girls ..in the inc/classes/bxdolcmts.php file ..all we need you to do is incorporate 'allow_tags"=1'........I ahve tried it and nothing but errors a mile long.

  • 3.Why should i buy or purchase upgrades within the unity of boonex if there no support for issues as these ,just due to the time differance , I mean I have purchased a vpn desinated server at 300.00 per month to run this site as well as close to 500.00 in modules , so this site will be massive and based off this program if i can get these last few things sorted out ,i will expand it and have the monies to do so .
My suggestion as far as the IT support service is that with  something this large you need to spend the money to invest in a helpdesk

Well as I said I love the stucture of the dolphin community and appreciate unity for there help , but it reminds me of college and profesional school reading boring tech manuals ,when laymens terms could be used to the not so rounded administation of websites built from the ground up !
so if anyone thinks they have the ansewer to any of these questions ,please feel free to speak up !

Thank You
Geoff Saughter

Hmm Not sure this will be much help but here it goes:

For Question #1 - Here are your options:

http://www.boonex.com/unity/support/home

http://www.boonex.com/unity/blog/entry/New_Support_System

Post job requests in the Jobs section of Unity

Rely on the support of the Unity members to assist you with your needs.

For Question #2 - Here is your option

You can disable the TinyMCE from being used in comments by going to Admin Panel> Settings> Advanced Settings> Other and remove the checkmark from it. This is going by your statement of 'In retrospect if people just wanted to send text'

For Question #3 -

The 'Upgrades' to Dolphin (as provided by BoonEx) are free of charge. If you decide to purchase 3rd party modules from the Unity Market, then BoonEx has no responsibility or support for these Modules. In order to receive support for these modules, you would need to contact the developer. Since there are some developers who do not live in the USA or have full-time jobs (other than Dolphin programming), its very possible that you may run into a delay in response.resolution time.

The dedicated (and Trusted) developers here at Unity always try to resolve any issues with their modules they sell within a reasonable time frame. When it comes to support with Dolphin, your best bet will always be to search the forums for answers or post new topics for issues that have not already been discussed. BoonEx depends mostly on its 'community' to help resolve issues that members have.

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
