Tutorial for replacing stars with own image?

Well the title says it all. Any tutorials how to replace those stars?

if its 7.1.x i don't think stars use image anymore.

Exactly thats why I was asking. I know css and basic coding so if someone has some sort of hint...

I think the stars are part of the font-awesome thing that is really a pain in the behind when you want to customise your site as I found out with replacing a font with a png; it is the sizing that is problematic as I now have an icon that is too large on the outline.

However, to get back to your question, I remember a topic where someone replaced the stars so keep trying to search; use an external search engine though.
