TinyMCE filters for adding links, images, video...

Has anyone considered adding admin controls for which membership levels can use the TinyMCE editor options (for forum, blog, articles, etc) for inserting active links, images, or videos into the content that's being created?

Seems to me that a 'limited' variation of the TinyMCE 'full' editor could be added to the core files along with membership settings for whether the level has access to the 'full' editor or the 'limited' editor.

Good idea.  An idea like this, is a good example for a section in the market pages where us members could present new ideas for modules.  Good ideas have a tendency to get buried in the forums.

My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees.

what would be ideal would be a dual ability to restrict functions: 1 controlling use by membership level, the 2nd by location/module/part of module.

Hotlinks for example, a site owner may want to allow them in all Profiles, some Forums/Subforums, all Blogs and select Groups, but make them dead elsewhere on the site or alternately allow paying members to post them but free members or guests would not be allowed, or perhaps some combination of both.

I used to play around on a bulletin board that allowed any member to link a pic/gif from a third party provider like tinypic but only paying members could directly upload an image.  I spent time on another site where increased activity and time spent on the site raised your "level" and with the increases various functions unlocked.

yes, I searched before asking....
