Timeline jQuery v1.3.x in D7?

The jQuery version 1.2.6 within Dolphin 7 (B8) is almost one year older than the actual v1.3.2 now. I noticed that there have been activities on upgrading to version 1.3.1 - but this failed because the internal builders are (at the moment) not ready for this.

Could anybody from the Boonex team pls give a short info on the timeline for an update on jQuery v1.3.x (which seems to be much faster and more stable on the main browsers)?

Thanx in advance.

Best regards, Sascha

This does raise an important point. It was an issue in phpfox, and they just adopted the current version (instead of the old patched up process which caused hell when upgrading mods). Bump?

Quick question for anybody who knows Java well... i did the following (hoping it might mean an upgrade), deleted the old jquery.js file and uploaded the latest version of jquery... D7b8 goes smoothly as if there was no change though (so it's 50%-50% if what i did makes sense or not)

Depends...

In theory, and depending how old the current .js is, everything should be fine, only the code would be cleaner, less bugs, allows you to do more things, etc. However, if the developer releases patches, upgrades, etc., affecting the jqueries significantly, things might break down.

I'd make a copy of the old file so you can swap just in case.

I'll have my guy take a look for a more professional answer, but ideally D7 should be running the latest version.

Hi!

Any news depending on the topic?

Because of new features in jquery 1.3.x, i need to use it on my modified page. When I replace the included 1.2.6, the page composer (admin panel) doesn't work anymore..

Even if theres no possibilty to change the .js, could i use another version in the admin panel than on the mainsite? Or do I have to write it on my own?

Regard

We have to stick with jQuery 1.2.6 because of page builders. jQuery 1.3.x doesn't support nested drag&drop/sortable objects.
