Well we have the release of the much awaited Dolphin 7.0.1 with quite a lot of bugs fixed even though a few more bugs have been created.
But what about the iPhone APP?
Has it been forgotten?
Come on Boonex the iPhone app needs some urgent attention as regards security and functionality, it just seems that even though everyone is starting to rely on their Smartphones for virtually everything, that it has put on the shelf for a while.
Is nobody bothered about this or is this as far as this App is going to go?

I'm keen to find out too. Some of our members have been bugging me about the iPhone app. I'm sure it'll be well used... if only a stable version was available. Seems a huge financial outlay to rebrand it with a logo and a change of text too |
oo, the Dolphin iPhone application was released shortly before Dolphin 7 in late December, 2009. It is supposedly available for both iPhone and iPod Touch devices, but I have only heard of the application working under the iPhone. It is available at http://itunes.apple.com/au/app/oo/id345450186?mt=8. An update was suppose to be released with the release of Dolphin 7.0.1, but this appears to have not happened. It does seem that BoonEx has chosen to put their mobile applications on the back burner, and with some people purchasing Prime for more use of these applications, it does leave some people feeling let down. Exactly. I'm interested in the proposed Android app too... I wonder if that'll materialise? |

If the iPhone application isn't being worked on (or at least having updates released), I doubt the Android application will be released any time soon.

So at the bottom of this page the following is written about a 'free, open-source iPhone app':
- "Mobile users is the biggest-growing market, and you will be equipped to
tap into it. Dolphin
comes with a free, open-source iPhone App, and an Android App is coming
soon."
Yet on this page it states 'Prime is the only way to get their source-code':
- "BoonEx is developing mobile apps that work with Dolphin. An iPhone App
is available now and an Android App is coming soon.
Prime is the only way to get their source-code, modify it, and publish
the apps as your own, without references to BoonEx.
We plan to develop WinMo, Blackberry and Symbian apps as soon as these
systems become more popular for Internet browsing."

"Open source" doesn't necessarily mean the source code is available to everyone. The iPhone application is free, but for access to the source code, you must purchase either a Prime, or mobile application rebranding license.

Yup, I understand. It could be a little misleading to a novice, however. I look forward to trying out the iPhone app - have you given it a go? How do you point it to a particular site?

I do not own an iPhone. However, you can connect to a web site by entering the URI into the the web address field in the application (which is visible on startup).

iPhone app update will be approx in the next several weeks. Rules → http://www.boonex.com/terms |
I'd be very interested in what the new updated iPhone app will come with... The least one would expect from an app such as the BOONEX iPhone app are three things:
1. COMMENTING! Hello, you need to be able to actually USE a social networking app.
2. BROWSING the community pictures one one common PHOTOS page.
3. An ACTIVITY STREAM such as the one in the Facebook and Flickr apps.
If that would ever happen, I just might put up the 900 bucks for the PREMIUM level membership.

I have been working on making changes to the iphone app and look forward to the update.
Has anyone submitted a re-branded app to itunes yet?

Hey dont sidetrack him - we're trying to get a Dolphin update out of him over here.
(I have a feeling that he cannot do more than one thing at a time.)
