Text formatting in Blog text

I'm having trouble formatting text in Blog posts in the Dolphin 7.2 version. I can see the HTML tages such as <strong> and <em> but they are not affecting the text. I'd also like to add some formatting with <span> to make changes to the way some text is displayed, and that's not even happening - just lines of paragraph text.

I can see the source code in the editor so I know that it's there. Can anyone help me understand what is going on and how to deal with this? It may just be Blog posts, I'm not sure at the moment as I'm using some Modzzz modules for my articles and news.

thanks, CHOPS

When making (or editing) a blog post, click on Tools >> Source Code to edit the HTML.

Blog Post With Full HTML Capabilities.

also - check the template you are using. some of these responsive templates change formatting.

That is my complaint - that changes that I am making to the source HTML are not effective in formatting the text. It is as if none of my changes existed. I can see the Bold type from the -strong- tag in the editor, but not on the page itself in the Blog.

I'm using a template by BSEtec - how would the template cancel out in-line HTML coding? There must be a way, because that is what is happening, apparently. When you say "check the template you are using," just how do I do that and what am I looking for?

Thanks much. I really appreciate your responses.

i am using a Bsetec template - and that is exactly what it does - to maintain its responsiveness - it strips a lot of html tags.

OK - so is that the bottom line, or is there a work-around? Do you think it is necessary to block text formatting, or is it an all-around shutting down of HTML formatting? Is it an all or nothing proposition?

if you play with the template - you can get the formatting back - use the element inspector and make changes that way - and see what gives you what you want. - dont forget to turn off all caches first.

so these would be changes to CSS? Just in case I want to make a back-up, what should I make sure I save? To make changes to Blog text styles? And you are speaking of element inspector in Firefox, right?

Thanks, CHOPS
