Testing Trident

I have downloaded and installed Trident and OMG what a headache, Firstly my server didn't meet memory limit requirements which was set quit high and already runs quite a number of other hosted websites, even a 20GB limit didn't satisfy it and had to make my serve unlimited for it to work, that's just shocking and good luck to those trying to install tis on a shared server account, it will never happen.

Then it need fileinfo and zip module, again good luck with that on a shared server account. Lucky for me I have a fully dedicated server and can do what I need to do myself as it needs doing.

OK after solving all of tridents exhausting requirements I got the  admin panel, again OMG what a site for sore eyes. Firstly it wouldn't let me do anything because even as the administrator it kept telling me I had to create a profile, trying to solve that took the best part of an hour and even then it only worked after I created a new user and made them administrator. What a headache that was.

Now all I have is a blank what ever you want to call it page as it doesn't nothing like an admin panel or a website site at all. the is no home page, finding the main dashboard once you log in is just mind boggling, as there is nothing anywhere and what ever is there when clicked on only gives you 2 options, 1- to edit profile and the other a search bar and that's it, I've been trying for the lash half hour to get to my so called dashboard which I can't find anywhere.

This is how I see trident people, it's an attempt at the first stages at trying to create a wordpress style script where you get the main EMPTY blank site for free with a couple of free modules like a simple template which I still haven't worked out how to activate as even when ticked there is no website there/display as home page.

Anyway then you pay a fortune for all mods you want to add which is pretty much anything/everything you may want on your website starting from total scratch.

What I have seen of the admin panel was pretty much worthless in the way of making it an understandable working admin panel.

Honestly after using Boonex pro which is quite a fantastic development script, WHY would you want to go backwards in life and deliver something this crappy. At this current moment it's not worth a cent, it users WAY TOOOOOO MUCH server resources, so much so you couldn't ever consider it for a large site, I'm lucky with my server limit as it's extremely large but I guarantee most servers wouldn't be able to handle it let alone whilst there are a number of users on there at the same time.

I'm sorry for these comments but hey it's the truth based on my experience after just installing it and not being able to do anything else worthwhile on there other than waste my time getting nowhere.

Good luck with guys.

Cheers

Thank you for your feedback.

Trident is less resource heavy thank Dolphin Pro, it look like there is some problem, what is your php-webserver server ?

By default Trident is as light as possible, so it gives you a freedom to use the site for many different ways, almost everything (even creating profiles) is a module, so to add features install some modules - almost all of them are free.

Also we are tuning it up to make it to look nicely just after installation and after installing several modules.

dashboard is like two click away...

it should be one click to go to dashboard ..

on top right corner user logo name ..should be seperate ..logo for timeline and name for dashboard ..then it would be easy..just my thought..

Good thought. We've been experimenting with a few things here, and really it looks like it depends on what your site is focused on. If it's more about making people post as much content as possible - you show the "+" sign separately. You can choose to show "dash" as well. Different templates and menu settings will be defining that.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and completely un-install trident including a new data base and will do a re-install, in the process should any of my current issues reappear I will take screen shots of them.

Cheers

This menu is customisable via Navigation builder in Studio,  so you can easily add these links.
