This is a template bug in the ORCA forum, when a non-logged in user attempts to click on the forum search button the access denied page is brought up but it is only the text fo the page. The headers and footers of the page do not appear adn the text does not appear in the traditional grey box. This needs to be fixed for site consistency.
I tested on my site and demozzz and it is there you can text by clicking this link which will bring you to the access denined page if you are not logged into the demozzz site: http://demozzz.com/dolphin7b/forum/?action=goto&search=1

Bump, this is a template bug pure and simple and needs to be fixed so the message displays like all other access denied messages. I'm very surprised a dev was on here earlier and responded to messages before and after this one, leading to a conclusion of intentionally ignoring a blatant bug. |
Well in case the dolphin people are too busy to click the link to see the BUG!!!!!!!!!!! Here are the screens showing the BUG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NORMAL ERROR SHOWS PROPERLY IN THE SITE:
ERROR WHEN YOU DO FORUM SEARCH THAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED TO COMPLY WITH THE REST OF THE SITE TEMPLATE (SEE THAT FORUM SEARCH LINK?!?)
This was tested on my own site and I took the pictures from DEMOZZZZ so its the same on the demo site before anyone says "works for me".

My post pointing out 3 other problems with templates has so far gone unanswered also.
This one however is more serious then mine. Mine were just customizing issues.
I don't think template issues are top priority on their to do list at the moment.
But then i also don't see very many tickets for RC4 keeping them busy either.

For now, you could just display the search item only to members, if guests don't have permission to use it. My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees. |
That's the issue. I have forum search turned off for non-members and it should be showing the access denied in the first picture, instead it's showing the blank page with text.
The only thing I can think of is to enable forum search but I don't wnat to do that as non-members cannot use any part of the forum.

What I'm saying, in Admin > Nav Menu Builder Change the Forum > Search item to members only. Since they can't use it anyway, why display it to them? My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees. |
I have a custom script that will display a very nice upgrade/join page to people. So the more things they can click on and not have access the more times they will be exposed to the upgrade/join message and hopefully the more money I make. |
