Not, Evo Wall is a wall for the pages: Home, Account and the Profile

It makes a lot of sense. It's much more than just "makeup". 

Has anyone tried to integrate their own third party modules or custom modules onto the evo wall yet? I would be very interested to see how difficult or easy this is to do.

on posts instead of small wheel pic for the share button just the word "Share" not every body gets this small button that appears only if you hoover on it (also the same problem on megaprofile to change profile pic)

Ok Alfred, thanks for your congratulation, we have spent 1 year on the development of this module and we hope in the success of this new work.

About the issue with the special chars, I think it's better to install in our demo site the languages GERMAN and also FRANCH, that have this type of issue (it seems). Italians seems be ok, very strange, maybe just an issue of collation...

Anyway, please send on this address info@ilbellodelweb.it the language file for EVO Wall (you have created) and also the main language file for Dolphin (for german) in order to try directly in our site and provide the solution as soon as possible.

Regarding language files. I also had that issue of showing special characters, but the sollution is: Use a professional editor such as "Ultra edit" and save the file as UTF-8 -No BOM. Upload the file. And remember to compile the language file again.

No. even through non-UTF8 BOM, it does not work. All functions are disabled javascript.

Remember to enable actions of Administrator membership level, you must enable the actions of Evo Wall for this level.

 That's right. Make sure for the membership Level you have "Content Box" enabled for posting of media etc... and "Personal Messages" enabled for well... posting messages...

Some recommendations:

1) Uninstall SpyWall and the reinstall EVO Wall, the two wall use a certain number of functions and libraries that have the same name and this creates conflict

2) for each your custom membership you must enable the wall' actions

3) if you have installed other IBDW modules, make sure to have update all to the current versions available in this market

We have released a first update that:

1. solves the issue for the mysql error for the field "typelement"
2. solves a layout issue with the audio player, now the player buttons are displayed
3. we have added some recommendations on the quick guide

You can just overwrite the files of evo wall.

Another feedback that I think is a must, which is available on facebook, which is once someone leave a comment at the wall, it is automatically added to the original content comment section. for example, If I comment on a photo, it will be available anytime in future if anyone went to the photo view page.

I hope also to consider this one.

Maybe, but we must consider the resources use for each addition.

Anyway we have fixed with the new update (1.0.2) the notification about the photodeluxe for comment on photos (now the notification redirect to photodeluxe instead that on Boonex Photos).

There days we'll release many updates because EVO Wall must consider some particular situation that we can't reproduce on our demo site (where the files and the db are original).

Anyway all the updates relased can be applied just overwriting the previous files (you dont need to uninstall and to reinstall the module)

I really wish for the items that require moderation, such as a new group or event, or member join, not to be shown unless the admin approved it. Since spammers can use this, and it is very confusing for the members where they click on the group and it will not return any results.

Today we have released the new update 1.0.3 (these first updates require not the unistallation of the module, just overwrite the files) that:

• allows to add and share the youtube link (in the url input box and in the personal messages)
• displays the comments number in real time (so if you remove a comment the number will be updated)
• and also solves other minor bugs for the feature "most popular" and grouping

We remember to uninstall the module IBDW SpyWall if you want use this new Wall.

Also, it's important to update all our modules to the current versions available in this market.

Only the last versions support Evo Wall.

IMPORTANT!

You can just overwrite the files, you must not uninstall/reinstall the module (but if you want see the current version number in the installed modules you must do it).

Remember to recompile the language files and to empty the cache.

Fixed the sharing under IE9 is not fixed in 0.04 version!

Other then that, the new Wall looks great and works fine in combination with other your modules

Any news on the documentation for installing third party or custom modules onto the evo wall yet? I would very much like to read it and see how difficullt it is to do.

Also, How long will the $99 offer be avaliable? I am keen to buy but I am repairing my site after a server crash for the next couple of weeks.

I believe, that before moving to integrate other third party modules from modzzz and rayz. I think it is much more important to integrate a module that is used by all community and it comes by default with dolphin, which is the Orca Forum.

Orca Forum dont uses the default table bx_spy_data...this is the reason we have not integrate this module.

I found a scenario that require attention. If I wrote a msg at someone else wall, this msg is shown at the entire website home page if the wall configured to show all website activities. In such cases, it should be private and it should appear on the members profile wall. 

I  know that this may be complex to be done, but there should be some activities type that should not go the all members wall, while it is ok to appear at the member wall. 

This could be added as part of a new later upgrade, where the admin can control which activities to show and what not to show in different scenarios (all members vs. friends.. )  wall

We remember that these frequent updates require NOT the uninstall of the previous version, just you must overwrite the files, empty the cache and recompile the languages.

About this update (EvoWall 1.0.6)

We have improved the compatibility for YouTube because the presence of special chars (as apostrophes, or html code) in some youtube videos (title and description) during the serialization created a wrong interpretation of the contents.

So, to get this fix you must overwrite (if you have already updated to the 1.0.5) just:

• basecore.php
• inserimentourl.php
• exe_url.php
• inserimento_url_image.php

 I hope that you can work with AndrewP for integration with Photo albums (Art module) deluxe & Video module - Cinema module's he has.

I suggest to enable showing the activities for people I follow/subscribe on top of my friends.

 If you want you can uninstall the previous version, upload the new files, then reinstall the module

Make sure you have installed the current version of IBDW PhotoDeluxe. The available version is 5.4

If not, uninstall the previous version, upload the new files of PhotoDeluxe and then install the module another time

 In the home you can see the activities of all the members that allow to see their posts to all members.

In other word, if the administrator choosed the level "members" for the Home page, but the profileXYZ choosed in his wall privacy  to display the posts only to the friends, the other members cannot see these posts of ProfileXYZ.

 I do have Photo Deluxe version 5.4 and still have the same error on spy wall but on the news feed it is okay it does not show this error

Boonex Dolphin requires safe_mode is off.

Contact your provider in order to get this setting as recommended by Boonex.

we have released the new update for Evo Wall ( 1.0.9 )

On this version we have improved the URL autodetection, but the most important news is the new grouping system, now based on a fast way to get the posts (no update query!, just select).

The result is visible in site with many members (large community).

To update Evo Wall, you must uninstall and reinstall the module.

This version seems to be really buggy:

Found a missing } at the end of line 11 in masterquery.php.

I fixed that an got two more messages in error log:

"PHP Warning:  mysql_num_rows() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /var/www/modules/ibdw/evowall/notizie.php(1) : eval()'d code(1) : eval()'d code(3) : eval()'d code on line 233

My pages that have the News Feed block are now completely blank when using 1.0.9. reverted back to 1.0.8 and all is well...

When I click:

The query wheel spins and then the post disappears and none of them show up
The posts were made just a few minutes earlier

I have recently spent the last two days repairing and rebuilding a Dolphin site bringing it from 7.0.7 to 7.0.9 where the client has this EVO wall and just about every module iLbellodelweb has made.

During the upgrade and re installing of their modules 1col, 3col, EVO wall, Photo DLX, avatar editor mod and more.

I'M HOOKED, yesterday I myself purchased the 3col module and love it so far! Top quality modules!!

But by far is this EVO Wall, from testing personally for my client, I know what my next purchase is!!

All the way through the upgrades I didn't experience a single problem with these great modules.

I'm not religious... but amen to that. I have all of their modules and I really put them to work to get features I was looking for put into EVO and they did and they perform exceptionally well.

I installed the new Evo Wall 1.0.9 and I have an issue with youtube embed. It looks like the wrong information is being presented in title + description + wrong video image.

It should good with the new file 1.0.9 right?

Released the update for EvoWall (1.1.2)

about this update:

• fixed the issue with the comments on the photos
• added the notifications for like and comments on the posts for UE30 Events and Locations, Modzzz Real Estate, Boonex Blogs and Sounds.
• minor bugs fix

If you have already installed the ver 1.1.1, you can simply overwrite the files, recompile the language and empty the cache.

IMPORTANT: EvoWall, but also SpyWall, has procedure for the existence check of Photos, videos, ads, eccc... because as you know, when you remove a content, the default module Boonex Spy, and the other Boonex Modules, dont remove the records from the table bx_spy_data. In fact if you remove a content (es. a Group, using the module Boonex Groups, you continue to see the news on the spy (boonex Spy) page.

This means that if you click on this info on the boonex spy block, you'll see, this content is not available. This is orrible, and so, EvoWall and SpyWall must launch more query in order to verify if the content is really present.

Now, finally, Boonex decided to fix this issue, and this will have many advantage:

1) your table bx_spy_data will be free of records referred to contents not longer available

2) your members will see not link to content no longer available

3) our modules will be faster because some procedures may be removed

Limited sharing choices.

Is there any possibility of replacing the current share choices (Facebook, Google+ and local) and just replacing them with the AddThis mod?

I am making extensive use of Addthis throughout my new site and the EVO wall seems dramatically limited in this function.

it was an issue with the special chars replace. We have released a new update (1.1.3).

To fix this bug you can download this version, and ONLY OVERWRITE the file called inserimentourl.php

Then empty the cache.

About addthis, this service allows to share a page, not a post....

Facebook, Twitter and Google+ API allows to share a single information (as the post).

For this reason, as you can see in the market post and also try on our demo site, there are these 3 type of sharing.

it was an issue with the special chars replace. We have released a new update (1.1.3).

To fix this bug you can download this version, and ONLY OVERWRITE the file called inserimentourl.php

Then empty the cache.

 ops, also you must overwrite the file functions.php

 Has this issue been fixed yet?

in the last version, I notice that only the admin, the account page is showing all members activities, although the setting is to show friends only. and once deleting an activity from the wall in the account page, it is does not have the earlier reported issue of showing only my profile activity. 

However, for the home page, it is showing all the members activities, but once deleting an activity it is showing my profile activities only, same bug as before.

I thought a few weeks back that you had sent me an instruction manual, but after searching my emails, it appears it was just the standard manual and updated version of EVO Wall. Yes, can I get notes or a PDF/Manual with instructions for integrating other modules please? :) That would be very awesome!

 I have installed EVO on your customer site and they have the "Schools" module as well, this would be a great improvement for the client!! Please try to include on next update.

Czech characters (for example: š í ů) are not being shown in link summaries. They show correctly in wall comments, however. Using v1.1.3.

I think you have used the option "most popular". If you want see  the new posts you can click on the botton "NEWS" you can see to the top-right of the box title

Make sure to have installed the current versions of the files.

Then empty the cache of Dolphin and also of your browser.

I installed the Evo 1.1.1 and the setting on Homepage is for members but it shows only profile posts.

I cleared cache too.

It doesn't matter specifically... it can be any website that uses special characters in the description, so here's a random example: idnes.cz
 

I also receive this error message when inputting some URLs (but not all):

The reason I ask, is because not only do use a good number of Modzzz modules and more to come,

I also do a good deal of marketing EVO and discussing these integration plans, thinking I would be pulling that project onto my plate within the next 2 weeks or possibly sooner...

I mean, I hope this isn't something that is going to be months and months like waiting on new Dolphin releases...

Hell, I'll help write-up the documentation for the mods I do if I have some basics and can get a couple under my belt. If we aren't doing it ourselves, how are we even guaranteed the mod we want to integrate will make it to the top of the priority list? I mean schools is cool and all, but I have others I think are WAY BETTER than Schools- at least in my opinion anyway.......Which is really all that matters right?

Not trying to be ungrateful- I just really want to be able to work on this and assure our integration happen sooner rather than later or not at all for that matter.

I'm not sure how all this works between vendors but I can see why it will be difficult.

The most recent update includes a choice of

Posting of events to the EVO via events" modules and you choose from "Boonex" or "UE30" so obviously UE30 and IBDW have collaborated on this..

Also these are here so he must have contacted modzzz or IBDW purchased the module and incorporated it..

On my Home page it is still showing the profile wall and not the members wall.

What browser are you using? Did you test other browsers + cleared the cache for both dolphin and browser? I seem to be having more of a problem with Chrome on OSX these days...

 Yes I cleared cache in admin panel + Chrome cache + IE cache + FF cache...

Still the same..

As far as home page is concerned, the admin will see this message in the EVO news feed block:  "The EVO Wall (NEWS FEED) is not active, you must insert a valid activation code.

Visit the module configurator to get and insert the activation code.

This message is visible only to the administrator"

All other members see the block header with no content.

I've yet to see any content on the home page yet for all versions I've installed???

Does anyone know how to remove "person joined" from the news feed ?

Why not to enable the wall everywhere, similar to the idea of this module:

This way the groups will have its own wall, each event will have its own wall, and so on. the good about having it Evo Wall, is that at the end any activity made in any place in the site will appear at the profile Evo Wall, and it will be shared among his friends.

 Actually, it looks like that may be possible with Deano's Block Tools :~\

I tried to copy the block with Deano's tools and it didn't work. IBDW walls are set up to work only on Homepage, Account and profile pages.

I too support the idea of having the capability of using it on all pages.

 I did also try with deano's block tool without succes. 

Maybe something like a "Super comment module"  ?

I will be happy to have to buy one other module if:

1. you can write comments like on EVO wall (with possibility to had a link, a photo,...)

2. a notification on the wall "posted this comment on..." and "reply to your comment..."

3. Using the email notification 

4. The buttons "connect" or "join" to write a comment (if the visitor is not connected or not a member yet).

It is a long time that I am looking for this.

These days you and another customer (crack_foo) have reported the same issue.

EvoWall and SpyWall are not designed to be used on the modules pages, only on the home page, on the account page and on the profile page, as you can see in the market post.

In particular, EvoWall need to know the page where is installed in order to apply the correct privacy settings.

 I am so happy to see all this exitement around the idea of having the wall for groups and events. 

actually even if it is possible to place the wall in the groups view page through the Deanos tool, still it will show either all members activities or friends activities, while on it should only show the group activities that is done inside this group, by the group members. Same for events.

yes, this problem is happening if you are site admin. also, if i delete an activity from the homepage wall, it show my profile activites after the automatic wall refresh

Another observation...when commenting on things like a Group or an Event, why is it that the comment itself is not showing up on the wall?  Displaying a one liner "John commented on the group XYZ" and then the Group's description and image is rather lame.  I'd much prefer the comment and a link to the group via the hyper-linked title.  The extra information is cumbersome and does not engage the community at all.

Can you fix this??

 Yeah, that's kinda what I was thinking...Perhaps would help to including which version the error is showing-up on when posting...as updates have been coming out so quickly :)

I installed 1.1.3 and it looks like the mod doesn't differentiate between Homepage and Profile page. When I set up the Profile page to show "Friends" posts or "Me Only" it also effects the Homepage. Strange!!

One more question, why aren't posts like "XYZ joined" grouped together? Would make sense to group them, instead of occupying all space on the wall???

<------ ia (like many on here) still waiting to see how easy it will be to integrate my own third party and custom modules with the wall.... Would be nice to see some clear instructions or a proceess of how to do it so that we can see if it will be within the rerach of the average site owner.

1) Fixed the issue on the home page (after the delete of a post, I think we have found the problem)

3) we have added into the file zip a quick guide for the integration of 3d party modules.

To install this update (if you have installed the previous version 1.1.3), you must overwrite the files, recompile the language files and empty the cache.

 Just to be clear- Next Update will be 1.1.4 YES?

When posting a link which contains a cyrillic, this is a preview (see photo attachment).

When the link is shared the post ends up actually displayed empty.

Can you PLEASE make it where updates remember our settings? Eavh time I do an update, it resets everything to default, PLUS I have to go find the email and copy/paste the activation code again!

ALSO, the permissions for any custom membership type are lost each time I update. I have 6 custom level memberships and I have to go through and reset them every time I do the updates.

 + 1 from me also for this one. As the more  important post are lost in the "xyz joined".

 Stop uninstalling the module, unless they indicate you have to. It hasn't been required since 1.0.9

Every module has this behaviour.  However it takes me all of about 3 minutes to uninstall/install the module. Before you uninstall, open the EVO config page in another window and either leave it open (so you can still see all your settings, or just copy the key then. 

The time has come for me to make this purchase.

The version in the market is 1.1.3.

What version are we up to now? if I upload the current version will I then need to install the recent patches? This will be my first installation of this module.

Also... Andrew... I know that you are very busy with updates and a lot of demands are being made of you. This is a lot of pressure, but please considder relasing the documentation of how to integrate third party modules into the wall. If you need any help writing them or translating into english i will be happy to help.

I've just got all three of your mods, 1col, 3col and EvoWall, to say that they aren't active and I need to go to admin area to activate them (I have all three at my homepage, btw). Any idea why this could be so? 

(Just to help, I was just trying to share a comment under a photo post - it did nothing (the share button didn't change into wait button) though - so I clicked on share button again, lol, and when I reloaded the page I got those de-activated messages from all three mods)...(errr, did I break it myself then? Lol!)

P.S.: The funny thing is that when I logged out, the EvoWall on the homepage (visible for guests), is displaying correctly, with the post I did just before the mods "de-activated"...

P.S.2: I've checked with other, non-admin profile, after I cleared the cache and did the same manually to cache and cache_public folders (plus on my browser too, lol). Your mods show there just fine. So no idea why they did collapse and de-activated on me in my admin account just out of the blue...?

1. it's correct, all the modules have this behaviour. In the past we have used external tables for the settings for some our products, but this it's a problem when, as on Evo Wall, you have so much possible settings, and also the old approach is not standard. Anyway, often, as in this case and in the previous update (from 1.1.2 to 1.1.3), to apply the new features and bugs fix, it's not needed to reinstall the module.
2. The incoming ver. 1.1.4 already included the "HOW TO" for the integration of a 3d party modules. There is an example that exaplains step by step how we have integrated the module of Modzzz Pets.
3. The module Pets, Petitions and Clubs are already integrated on Evo Wall 1.1.4
4. About the grouping, just a clarification: the grouping is based on this idea. All the similar type of posts (for example all the photos added) of the same profile must be grouped on a single post. So if Mister_Bean adds 3 photos, you'll see only one post. Also, if Mister_Bean become friend with Miss_Brown and Mister_X, you'll see only one post. Ecc...
   
   If Mister_Y joined, and Mister_Z joined, this is the same action type, but not from the same profile. So the query result is not grouped. My personal opinion is that you can remove this type of information from the Wall filter (just editing the file mqcondition.php), What advantage to see on the wall that a new member is joined ????

For Nathan, as I've already explained on the point 2 the instructions for the integration of a module is present on the incoming Evo Wall 1.1.4, also my name is not Andrew but Raffaele, even if I'm not the only one IlBelloDelWEB.it's programmer. I see. That's why my EVO wall stopped showing many older news suddenly (yesterday).  Does it mean I should increase the number of news stored by the spy module?

Yup, I deleted "XY joined" from the mqconditions.php. Hopefully 1.1.4 won't need this file updated too, lol.

When I posted a photo in EVO, via post photo option, the album (wall-photos) and the posted photo is NOT showing up on the Photos Home and the album is not in Photo Albums (I still use Boonex Photos btw, lol).

I've checked, that when members post avatars via Avatar page, for example, the news is displayed ok and the photo is in the Photos module and also is the album. However, when I tested it the other way, vice-versa, publishing photo via EVO, it is created as news on the wall, alright, but the resulting photo is NOT in the photo album or Photo Home = members can't rate it and it's more difficult to find it, if it doesn't sit on top of photos in Photos Home.

Hi guys, does anyone know how to make it show posts older than 24hrs if a guest is looking at a profile, as at the moment it seems like an empty site to a guest, so if you click on this page you will see what i mean, you have to click older news to get items to show

Also found another problem, when members comment on a photo why does it not group it ? instead if 4 people comment on the same photo there a 4 feeds on the wall so it clutters the entire feed up with the same photo

if you dont see some type of news, you must not increase the number of news, only you must check if the module Boonex Spy display the notifications about this type of actions.

If not, you must uninstall/reinstall Boonex Spy. But to preserve the records of the table bx_spy_data, you must edit the file install.sql and uninstall.sql and comment all the query for Drop/Delete/Create for the table bx_spy_data and bx_spy_friends_data

If you have not changed the header for the domain address (for example from www.yoursite.com to yoursite.com without www, or viceversa)

try to uninstall and to reinstall the module EvoWall. Then insert the code and save.

On the administration of this module you can select the interval time for the grouping (day, week or month).

Also, you can specify the number of posts to display at time. By default the wall displays 10 news, but you can change this value.

Normal, the grouping is for a certain type of content from the same author.

This problem is only half resolved in 1.1.4 - the title shows all the correct characters, but even in your example shown above the description/summary should be:

"Nejnovější zprávy z vašeho kraje, České republiky a celého světa" and NOT:
"Nejnovìjí zprávy z vaeho kraje, Èeské republiky a celého svìta."

New problem: when I add any non-English URL the site searches for images for the link for a long time then this error shows (using the http://www.idnes.cz example again):

Lol, there's nothing in the manual about the upgrade - you really mean it seriously that I need to uninstall it all, with all my customizations, in order to install new patch?

the upgrade procedure is not the same each time. This depends by many factors, as for example the version you have installed and also another problem is that often the upgrade dont requires the uninstall/reinstall, so maybe you have uploaded to your version 1.1.2 the files of the version 1.1.3 (without the reinstall).

When it's needed we suggest to uninstall and to reinstall the module. In this case you can only overwrite the files and only if you see some issue, you can try to uninstall and to reinstall the module and empty the cache.

In fact sometime this is usefull to solve the issue of old files cached.

OK. :) So from 1.1.3 to 1.1.4, I just rewrite all the mod files? Still, I guess I'd need to open my old admin settings, archive evowallstyleUNI.css... would I need to recompile the languages afterwards or not? Is the style .css unchanged so I can just paste my 1.1.3 modified one?

1. if i uninstall the previous version then install this version will i lose any members information.

2. What is the point of the Like button as some of my members are complaining that they can see the notification but WHAT POST HAS BEEN LIKED ??? It would be better to be able to show the exact post in the notification :)

3. Same with posts, if someone comments on a post they receive a notification but does not tell them which post was commented on 

4. When a member comments on a there own photo the url is wrong in the news feed and sends to www.mysite.com/%7Burl%7D

Yes, like notification contains a link where to check it but it just get's me (or a member) to member.php (if I remember it right). In my case, I found no like on my EVOWall, neither when I checked the liker's wall. Wouldn't it make sense to get the news in respect to be on top of the wall, somehow? 

So, I've just rewritten the files with 1.1.4 and it still says EVO Wall - News Feed version 1.1.3 in my admin (cache cleared, languages recompiled, browser cache cleared too). Hmm?

Modzzz has this sqlupdate file in the patches, that you are meant to run, mostly to update database as for the mod version. I just hope I'm not meant to go manually to the database and change Evo from 3 to 4, lol?

We are already at work in order to fix the chars issue. About the problem for the getimagesize the reason of the error can be much, for example the file integrity.

Ok, fixed the issue with the czech chars and other bugs reported. For example now you can share a link on the profile page of another member and see the sender and the recipient of this sharing  (for example ilbellodelweb  vs demouser)

If you have already uploaded the files for the 1.1.4, you can only overwrite:

• inserimento_url_image.php
• inserimento.php
• inserimentourl.php
• blocchi_wall.php
• notizie.php

The idea to create a sqlupdate for the version of the module is a good idea, we hope to add this on the future 1.1.6, for the next version we have decided to add also the modules:

• Schools
• Bands
