Support forum for Block Unconfirmed Members

This is to support the FREE mod Block Unconfirmed Members, the mod that lets unconfirmed members log in, but whenever they attempt to go anywhere, they are always redirected to a custom page telling them they have to confirm their email first.

By letting them log in, you enable them to resend the activation mail (an option which is enable for logged in users only), but in the same time- prevent them from doing and seeing anything else in the site.

A simple mod, no core changes, easy to implement.

Sure hope some one can help me as this mod is exactly what I am looking for but ran into problems.

I am using 7.1.4.  I have all installed and it works perfectly in function, but something is wrong with the design.  If I just go to unconfirmed.php if looks and works like it should.  If I go to another url and it redirects me to the unconfirmed.php the look is off like nothing is formatted.

Hi 777connect, is it possible that your site is using SSL, fully or partially?

No.  Not at all.  I had a programmer look at it and it works fine now.  He had to make a correction.  Since I do not know php, I am not sure if this is site specific or needed for the mod period.  Here is what he sent me when he fixed it.

Check now.

If it completely solved then you may share this solution with the mod's author:

a

(stristr($_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'],'gzip_loader.php') === false)

must be added to header.inc.php in order JS/CSS to work properly when cache and compression is enabled.

Thanks Mike for this great mod.  IT does exactly what I wanted.

Thank you very much for the report!

I've updated the mod to contain the fix your developer reported.

Glad you liked it, hope it serves you well.

Getting an error with Chrome browser.  After a person signs up, Chrome presents a page with

This webpage has a redirect loop

With the buttons reload and more.  It works perfectly in Opera; have yet to test in FF and IE.

Tested on FireFox and got:

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

I will check the redirect setup; funny that Opera allows it but not Chrome and FireFox.

I redownloaded and applied the new from the instructions and it is now working on FireFox, assume working on others as well.

Thank you.
