Suggestion for Ads mod.

I just noticed that one of the ads on my site has 23 views and I thought to myself how cool it would be if the user who published this ad could have the option to know who looked at his ad.  So I posted this here to share this thought with the developers amongst us and maybe someone will think its a good idea and create it.

I think it could help the users to sell their stuff since they will be able to see who was interested in their ad and then can contact him/her to negotiate the sell.

I think its a good tool to have on Dolphin.

I think it is also a good idea, however not all views are interested sales leads and emailing every user that looks could be classed as spamming, it may have been looked at because the member that posted the ad forgot to make it not public, so some one came along and clicked on it from the homepage out of curiosity, however I like your idea of being able to follow up leads and to add to this would be a feature for also seeing how long a user was on the add page, the longer a user is on the add page looking at the add  is a good indication of whether they could be interested in a purchase and is a good sarting point for a lead.

You do have a point there.

On the Actions block we can find the RSS button which I'm not sure if it could help but what if we add another button to Actions block that will enable the person who views the Ad to "save" it or "rate" it, and then the seller will be able to see some indication of interest by the viewer. Maybe even something similar to the facebook "poke" button.

Some of these ads never sell if we add this kind of tool, the person offering his product has better chance to make the sell.

Thank you for your interest in my suggestion. I'm sure if we think about it a bit more we will come up with the right solution.
