Question : There are approximately 100 accounts that are owned by a single member. Once I install your mod, can I pass on all those 100 accounts to that single owner? Thanks |
1. is there a way to limit the number of sub-profiles a user can create. 2. can I restrict use of this module to certain levels. What we want to do is this. Allow a user to purchase multiple memberships for themselves and others they work with. Each membership is 35/month, so we would offer 10 memberships for $300. With this module, and if the above questions are answered with a yes, then this would allow us to accomplish this feature. So, basically, they would purchase a membership that cost $300/month, and then the user could create 10 accounts. This makes each membership $30/month.
But this leads me to another question, will those sub profiles be able to purchase their own memberships, or are they forever tied to the creating membership? THis question will be the deciding factor. caredesign.net |
There is no facility to add an account to another after it has been created. You would have to manually add them in the database. Thanks modzzz, I will tell my boss to purchase this module as it will allow for what he wants. We can get around not separating accounts - unless you come up with an update. caredesign.net |
Hi, I downloaded and reinstalled the new .zip file (March 12, 2014) and created a brand new user. I get this error in the "Sub Profiles" block on the user's profile page: Warning: Missing argument 2 for BxSubProfilePageMain::BxSubProfilePageMain(), called in /home/mysite/public_html/modules/modzzz/subprofile/classes/BxSubProfileModule.php on line 153 and defined in/home/mysite/public_html/modules/modzzz/subprofile/classes/BxSubProfilePageMain.php on line 29 |
Update made to solve warning message shown on some sites. Re-upload the modules/modzzz/subprofile/classes folder. Paypal email is jeromemingo@gmail.com - http://www.boonex.com/market/posts/modzzz |
Thank you very much, problem solved. |
Hey Modzzz, I have some problems and also requesting some modifications to your Sub-Profile module:
Thanks - Jethro |
I believe that some of your items can be addressed via editing the actions for the membership level. I know for sure that "sub profile - create profiles" is one of the actions because I have it unchecked in mine. But for this to work you will have to have two different membership levels - one for the main account holder and one for the sub profiles. Since you are activating accounts manually anyway, while you are doing that just move the sub-accounts to the membership level that does not allow creation of sub profiles. |

Unfortunately, limiting access through the action manager will not meet my needs. Besides being too restrictive it still doesn't keep a sub-profile from creating another sub-profile. |

This mod might be useful for me. Can activate sub-profiles appear on the homepage or on the 'People' / All members tab? Can I as admin edit each sub profile individually without affecting another profile/sub-profile? |

This is a great addition to any site! If thought out this really has unlimited possibilities if you tie the profile fields engine to multiple sub-profiles. If done it becomes a true collector of "anything" you want to gather. The only aspect that is missing is the ability to name each sub-profile in the builder. I.E. Sub-1 1.2.3.4.5. profile fields named anything you want. Sub-2 1.2.3.4.5.6.7.8.9 profile fields of anything you can think of! Also this appears to be admin or member driven which I see the wisdom in that approach but if you were to use the invite a friend engine to allow the admin and or member to invite a client, customer to a sub-profile, to join under my profile that would be a much easier process. Right now all I see is a link that is generic in nature lacking the association like from =1 or whatever the person's site id is...Obviously it's in the programming but is it there if a person is not signed in? I.E. I am on the phone let me shoot you this link which has the association between me and that person I am on the phone with once he fills it out and joins. I don't think that can be done at this point? Also I would love to see permission based viewing of that block set to me only as another possibility so that I am not sharing with the members who I am working with... Csampson |
Is there some way that content added by main profile (or sub-profiles) could be reflected in sub-profiles(main-profile). For example. Main profile creates a group - all sub-profiles would be automatically added as fans of that group. Sub-profile adds a group, main profile and all other sub-profiles of that main profile would be set as fans of that group. If not - what about instant friends? Main profile creates a sub-profile and both are immediately set as friends with each other. |

Hi, need to be able to limit who can view a sub-profile by membership level. Is this possible? Or does the db see a sub profile as a standard 'view profile' action when it comes to viewing permissions?
Would extend the use of this module massively if this was possible... |
it seems to me that the system treats sub-profiles as regular profiles. I wanted to NOT display the sub-profiles and ended up having to do a bit of code editing to get them not to display.
Just as a quick brainstorming - my first thought would be to create a separate display block for sub-profiles, and only let that block be viewed by specific membership levels (using page access module). Then, do a code edit that does not display the sub-profiles in the main members block. Again, that is just a quick thought. caredesign.net |
@ProfessorSr not seeing how I can change the number of sub-profiles a membership type can create. Any guidance would be appreciated caredesign.net |

This looks like an interesting way to do what I would like.
I need to only allow certain membership levels to view sub profiles. Also, i need to be able to easily allocate a membership level to all subprofiles without going through one by one... it seems to me that the system treats sub-profiles as regular profiles. Hi modzzz
I have a question or 3 please:
1) The sub profiles created, do they function as completely separate profiles, as in they can be logged in to from outside, managed individually and searched for separately on the site? 2) Can they be linked and unlinked after being created? So e.g. can I create profile b and then later make it a sub profile of a? Will it still be seen as an independent profile? / OR / can sub profile b that was created by profile a be unlinked from profile a and become a stand alone profile?
Thank you |
1) Yes, they are separate Profiles with all functionality of regular Profiles. 2) There is no linking or unlinking. I will take this suggestion in consideration. 1) The sub profiles created, do they function as completely separate profiles, as in they can be logged in to from outside, managed individually and searched for separately on the site? 2) Can they be linked and unlinked after being created?
