Is that possibile to put images or videos into the text directly?

 You can embed them with the tinymce editor. Check out the functionality on the demo site.

Hello:  You were working on this module to allow stories to have chapters.  How far along is that work?

 I am not working on this presently.

Adjustments have been made to the alphabetical browse block plus other improvements. Re-upload files and clear cache.

Without chapters the module would not be suitable for long book-form type stories.  It would be great for a short-story type thing but was looking forward to the chapters.  I hope you can return to work on adding chapters in the future.

and how do I configure the External Link to NOT mandatory? because if I post a story on my own there will be external link.

Your license has been re-created. The link is not mandatory in the latest update.

I've added an image to this story in both .png and .jpg format, don't see it anywhere.  Am I missing something?  Where is the image supposed to show?  I had assumed it would be somewhere in the body of the text, or as an attached file or something.

Sorry, there is currently a problem with photo upload for all modules on that demo site. This is not due to any problem with the module itself but due to some customizations I did on the site. Normally the photo will show in a separate block on the page.

It seems that a photo is REQUIRED to go along with each story?  Is that true or are we doing something wrong?  

No, photos are not required.

The cost of this module has been reduced.

I have been looking at the module; making a few customisations to suit my needs.

I see that when one posts a story, they have the ability to set which membership levels can read the story.  This setting does not override the actions settings.  However, I am not sure that members should have this ability. What was the logic in adding this setting?

Chapters should be able to be written in draft mode and then published when finished.  I know you are busy, could you at least provide some guidelines to me so that I can do this modification myself?  With this final modification, the stories module would be complete.

 Only Admin profiles have this privilege.

Can you outline what I need to do (I will do the code work myself) for getting draft mode for chapters?

I would probably spend more time trying to outline what needs to be done than the time it takes to actually do it. I am not sure how to go about advising you as there will be bits and pieces of code changes needed in several places. Maybe it would better help if you ask me specific questions as you go about working on it.

I am sure I can do it on my own, I added the "Editor" part on my own;   I like how you kept adding feature after feature to your Restaurant module for a user without compensation; you did not seem to have any problem saying yes to her.

I see in chapter_main a status field with values approved and pending with default approved; however, I am not seeing a setting in the admin for chapters where an admin can set if chapters are automatically approved or need to be approved by an admin.  So it would appear that all chapters are automatically approved due to the default value of the chapter_main status field.  So I am starting with adding draft to the list of values and adding a publish field to the chapter_main table.

Yes, I can do this; you could just do it quicker.

Bug discovered.

While working to add draft mode to chapters I discovered a bug that I was able to repeat on your test site.

If I create a story and set publish now to no and set the publish date to a future date and hit submit; the module returns with "You don't have any stories" and clicking on the button "My Stories" also returns "You don't have any stories".  So short of it is that draft mode for stories has a bug.  I set both publish now and publish date; I did not try to see what happens when publish date and publish now is set independently.

Update has been made to more clearly identify the stories posted by a user on the "My Stories" page.

The files below are modified. Sections modified are flagged with the date april-06-2015 . Re-upload the files and re-compile language for the module in the Admin section.

Added the ability to save chapters in draft (unpublished) mode.

A new block is placed on the Stories page that shows all unpublished chapters to the Story Author only. After a chapter is ready to be published, the author can go to the Chapter page and publish it.

Stories Module - This is now compatible with Dolphin 7.2 . For those upgrading from Dolphin 7.1, just re-upload the module files (no re-install needed).

An issue with Youtube Embed has been resolved. Re-upload files and clear cache.

This is a feature request.  I see that the code has admin disabled.  Could you enable admin and label it as Editor?  My take on this is that a member could add someone as an Editor to edit and review their stories before they are published to the site.  I can do this code edit myself but would like to see it as part of the code base to make future upgrades easier.

 I have noted this feature request. Estimated timeline - Middle of December.

Not yet. Typically I update support forums when there is any relevant change to a module.  

Broken "Add Story" link.

The + sign that allows you add a new articles does not take you to the new story form.  Instead, it keeps you at the default /m/stories/browse/my page.

It looks like the link refers to "/m/stories/browse/my&filter=add_story" instead of the correct "my&modzzz_stories_filter=add_story"

Hello Modzzz.  I was wondering about this small change in the code.  I can actually do this myself but I was wanting it added to the module code so I would not have to worry about any future upgrades of the module.  This small change in allowing an Editor (admin) to the module will complete the module as a complete story feature allowing it to be used for many different purposes; including running a magazine site.  For my purpose, it will be a story module where new writers can write and have an editor to check their stories and make changes before they are published to the site.

How about this, if I make these changes; which is about five minutes of work, maybe 10, and sent you the changed code, would you add it to the repository?

LOL. Speak about exaggeration :) I will add the functionality tomorrow and for the fun of it I will actually time myself and post how long it took.

Thanks Modzzz.  If you note the date of the original request and your agreement; 29 Nov 2016, you can see I have been very patient ; unlike the person that kept asking for one change after another to your restaurant module.

It is appreciated.  The last time I got a specific change to a module that was not added to the core, I broke my site because I had to upgrade the module.
