Store on my site is not working right..

the store on my site is allowing people to download the files we are trying to sell before a payment is made

Its working fine.

You will see the download link as you are site admin...

As a non member I cant see the link or the purchase button.

Joined (had to learn what year Glasgow Rangers were formed to sign up...!) - logged in, can see the purchase button but not the dload link.

Best to create a test account also as a normal member in order to view non admin access.

You can always easy switch between accounts using deanos tools during testing!

ok i tried this, now after i make a test purchase it come back to a page that says "no data given" instead of allowing me to download.. any ideas?

you have set up your payment module right?

There are 2 payment settings in Dolphin, I found this confusing when first setting up a shop site...

The one in the admin section under modules - payments is only for site membership payments.

If you want to set up shop payments, you have to do this from the FRONT end of your site...!

Login, then dashboard - payments.

Then under the settings tab enter your paypal info etc...

Let us know if this is all set correct.

 yes the member who is posting the items for sale set it up. i walked him thru it,, he gets the payments ok but the return to download is not working,, we checked the return link in his paypal many times to make sure it was correct with his correct id and all looks right just wont complete and allow to download

 yes,, the payment go thru just wont return for the download to complete,, i have set everything like it is suppose to be and the return link in his paypal is set to use his id number

Ok, just made a test payment on your site (you owe me 2cents!)

have you setup the 'data return URL' within paypal?

in dashboard - payments - settings under paypal there is a URL at the bottom. 

You need to paste this into your paypal account, or whoever is selling the item.

In paypal goto Profile - my selling pref - instant payment notifications.

paste it there.

then once a payment is made, it will confirm to Dolphin that the payment has gone through. 

May not direct you back to the item you purchased, but next time you goto that item, it should display the 'download' button.

Am pretty sure this is what you are missing?

yes,, the users id number is 2 and i walked him thru adding http://www.rangerschat.com/m/payment/act_finalize_checkout/paypal/2   to his paypal settings.. which is why i cant figure it out,, and ill pay you back any money i own you for testing just email me your paypal email and the amount you are owed

ok, test item in place. IPN added to my account.

I did notice, I cant see the download button on the item, even though I added it...

not sure if this is an issue or not as the only other sites Ive added products to, Ive been the admin for...

nope,, payment went through but was not redirected and then even when i go back still wont let me download

The order was sitting in 'pending' in my dashboard - payments 

Had to manually approve it. 

Although, a couple of things... 

the payment hasnt gone through to my paypal account

after approving the sale in dashboard, it then shows in approved, but is also still showing in pending...

what version of Dolphin are you running?

My bad!

Had the wrong paypal address in... I changed the paypal address half way through setting the item up as I realised I already had an IPN on that account.

Have amended it now. 

Try again (its only 1 cent!), this one hopefully should go through...!

1st payment did go through, but to wrong account! This one didnt have correct IPN

was it not showing cause you had to approve it in your dashboard?

If 1 - the settings were wrong on my end... setup in haste (and late here!)

I had to manual approve the first one.

think that went through then.

I have changed the payment option on that file, try it now... if its correct, it will go straight through without needing approval.

 we got it sorted, would like to thank you very much for your help,, the user has to manually process orders but that works till we can figure out something else,, again thank you very much for your help

I think there was one lingering around somewhere... more aimed at membership payments though, but much of it is similar, apart from needing to be entered in a completely different place!

tussery, try another purchase on the item I setup as it has amended setting in paypal. I have a feeling it should send the relevant data and also bypass the manual processing of the item...

I refunded the 1cent cost on the other item ;-)

Yep, had to manually process it again...

Not sure Im afraid. Used the same settings as I have on my other sites, all approve sales automatically. Will have a look, see if I can find anything else, otherwise maybe send a support ticket?

well i have heard nothing but complaints about the whole dolphin store setup, this was the first time i really tried to use it, not to happy with it at all to be honest. If yours works and does auto processing then it has to be able to work, just need to figure out how

my process of paying works but it does not return back to product and no download button
