Sticky

I have two questions, perhaps I'm over looking it, but here goes.

1.  Can you make a forum post "Sticky" after the message has been created?

2.  After you make a forum post "Sticky," how do you "un sticky" that message without deleting it?

Thanks in advance!

We had a bit of a glitch in this forum. I am not sure if he is going to repost his answer or not. So here is the answer.

1) No.

2) No.

OK, who wants to make a mod so that you can "un sticky" a forum thread plus "sticky" it once a post has been created?

Thanks for the fast replies.

LOL. Yeah, what he said. I don't know what I did, but it posted my reply ten times...

question #1 was No,

Question #2 was also no because 1 was no.

As far as a thrid question, well, I'll just give you that one for free.

Talking anyone into writing a mod for the fish forum will most likely just get you another 'no'

I would be patient, there is an IPB mod coming soon that will smoke anything you can do with a small whale. (wink wink Deano)

OK, TNB... will wait for IPB (what does that mean?).

BTW: I was willing to pay for the mod (smile).

Oh, looks like I'm a dummy. You can make a topic sticky if you have admin permissions to do it. You just need to check the sticky box that presents itself in the editor when you are creating the post. I would suppose to unsticky it, you would just edit the post and uncheck the box.

Well, I can create a sticky by checking the box.  I just can't figure out how to un-sticky the forum post without deleting it.

You can unsticky it by manually removing it's sticky flag from the database.

As for the IPB mod. I have been delayed.

If writing mods was sufficient to make a living, i would do it full time. But alas, i do have other work i need to do.

Yes - its part of an orca update I'm working on... If I manage to put some time aside, I'll try and get it finished off. Not sure how long it will take as it's not a priority at the mo.

Where in the DB can I go to unsticky it manually?  Any instructions would be appreciated.   I am not a programmer.

Thanks in advance!

Talk about an unfinished train of thought. Who would create a way to sticky a topic and not make it removable?

Who would create a forum without moderation tools?

I don't see them updating orca at any time, heck they threw all the Orca forum areas into the "Archives" which tells you how much they are really going to do with that thing.  Hopefully an integration will come about that we can all use or Boonex will integrate PHPBB or similar.

Any help with instructions on where to edit the sticky in the PhpAdmin panel would be greatly appreciated.  That is: How do I remove the sticky without deleting the forum message?

Thanks in advance!
