Status updates?

I'm not sure if I'm putting this in the right spot. I'm still very new at this.

Is there a setting for making someones status update show up in spy?   Like FB.  Im just starting out, so im still a little lost.   Im trying to keep the few people that have signed up. Everybody loves the FB news feed. lol Help!

Im still not sure thats what Im looking for. I see where it says "what are you doing or thinking?"  But I dont see where someones thoughts are put on the home page.   Like with FB someone post a status and it goes to the newsfeed with everyones.    Thanks in advance! :)

Ok. Im rethinking my question.  The spy on my site only shows when someone views a profile or added a photo. But it doesnt show if someone makes a status. You can only see it if you view their profile.

Am I doing something wrong?
