Spy or Latest Activity displayed on the HomePage

Is there a way to get a block of the Spy/Latest Activity feature to appear on the main page?

I thought I saw a way to do this, but now I can't find a way at all.. One wishlist item would be the ability to ad a block of almost any feature onto any page..
