This is the support forum for the Spider Web mod.

Version 2.0.1 released. (See patches/version_2.0.1 folder in zip file)

Major update is made to the word filtering functionality :

1) You can now choose to automatically replace bad words / phrases with a place-holder.

   or

2) hide the content from the site until admin reviews and decide to take action or not.

Version 2.0.2 released. (See patches/version_2.0.2 folder in zip file)

Update is made to allow filtering out emails and links from content also.

The module was updated so that URL filtering will not filter internal site URLs.

Re-upload modules\modzzz\spider\classes folder.

An issue with anonymous comments is resolved. Re-upload the modules\modzzz\spider\classes folder.

This is due to a flaw in the wall comments functionality. It does not pass sufficient information to the alerts system to allow the comment made to be identified by external modules.

I seen that 3rd party modules can be integrated.  Would EvoWall and Social Comments by Anton work with this in any way?

The Admin section for integrating third party mods is suitable for modules with a group-like structure and these particular modules do not fit that criteria so you would need the assistance of the module authors to do the integration.

Spider Web Module - This is now compatible with Dolphin 7.2 . For those upgrading from Dolphin 7.1, please check the upgrade folder for instructions.

Is anyone using this mod on 7.2?  It was installed on my site but I removed it because of java script errors.  I am also having trouble just getting it to work at all.  I cant find any documentation and trying to talk with the programmer doesnt work.

Anyone successfully using this mod on 7.2??

 The developer of this is one of the easiest and reliable people to get a hold of.  Has he not responded? Has it been longer than 3 days? If your problem is related to this module then the developer is very capable of helping.  Did you update or install the 7.2 files or maybe you are trying to use 7.1 files?

I have been trying to establish communication for quite sometime now (2 weeks) and get no response at all. All he sent me were two messages indicating things were moving but still NO results.

It has been over 2 weeks and I have paid for a customization that never occurred and when I asked about it I received nothing but a single message that was cryptic.  

So MY experience with this programmer has been very negative.

Perhaps I am being impatient?

If you paid for something and then when it doesn't get done and you have no ETA that is reliable, and no real communication what do you do?

I understand your concerns and desire to hear more about your project. Your original post was asking if it worked for others but you are in the process of running a custom modification.  I am not customer support for the developer but I seen you were asking about others experience with this and thought I would weigh in.  Modzzz has been very helpful and responsive through my troubles over the years. I run several of this developers modules.  I hope you guys find a line of communication soon to resolve your issues. He typically delivers expectations in all of my past dealings.

 @make1c - On wednesday I told you in plain english that I was in communication with the developer of the Evowall module to accomplish integration of Spider Web. There was nothing cryptic about what I said. I have had several back and forth communication with ilbellodelweb since. The last message I sent them on Friday has not been responded to as it seems they do not work on weekends. Since you feel as if I am not making the effort to get the integration working, I have provided a refund for both the module and the $25 customization fee you paid.  

You pointed to a javacript error that was coming from the evoWall module (not Spider Web) and I told you it is not related to the Spider Web module. Furthermore, since the Spider Web module was not yet integrated with EvoWall, it could not trigger an error with that module anyway.

For others who may wish for integration with EvoWall and Spider Web, I will continue to communicate with ilbellodelweb until we have this working without any need to hack the coding of EvoWall. So far we have several modules that are compatible with each other.

Thanks, and me too as far as finding a line of communication.  I do appreciate your feedback.  It does help to know that things are good in this kind of situation.

Administrators have freedom to post what they wish. Since only administrators can post news items, no filtering is done. If you have my Premium News module that allows members to post also then the filtering is done.

Regarding the Blog Comments, that is a bug which will be fixed in the next patch release.

I have a question about the MODULES link in the Spider Web Admin.

Is this the area to use for allowing and not allowing Links & Emails in the respective Modules listed?

I have attached a printscreen and you will notice in profile I have un-checked allow links.  Does that mean no links will be allowed to be put there?  As you know HTML doesnt work in the Profile description so I am wondering if I have interpreted this correctly.

I am getting a few members putting in html anyway and posting porn sites.  If this will prevent links from being added to the description that would be great.  I am also adding the links as I discover them to keywords just using the domain (eg, porn.com).

How does it interpret links?  Will it see http://porn.com and www.porn.com (No http) as links?

If you un-checked allow links, that means no links will be allowed.

www.test.com and http://test.com are considered as valid links but not test.com

An update has been made to fix a few glitches in this module. Re-upload the following folder : modules/modzzz/spider/classes

In the Description box for the Profile editing, members are still able to put in links even though I do have the allow links unchecked for Profile.  They are doing so under an href= & also just as a link but because HTML doesnt work in the description box it is all coming out as text.

Any ideas?

I am not sure I understand what this means.  

Do I get the .zip and extract it and then from the extracted files find the classes folder and overwrite the existing classes folder?

Also this is the version I have installed:  Spider Web version 2.0.5 by modzzz.com

@make1c - Have you checked this since I made the updates earlier today ?

Have I checked what?  You didnt quote me so I dont know what you are asking about?

Ok, I have uploaded the classes folder from the zip file I just downloaded.  I will let you know if members are still putting links into their Profile description boxes.  It shouldn't take long.

FYI, I don't see any differences in the module itself, so I assume the classes folder update is for internal issues.

I just wanted to let you know that the not allowing links in the profile works now after uploading the new Classes folder.  The link was replaced with the place holder content & I was notified, which is great.  This may actually solve a big problem with members posting any link, including the porn links I was getting.

I have discovered something that I dont think should be in the unresolve & resolved Offenses areas in the Spider Web admin area. 

I am seeing IMAGES from the spider web admin being put into SOME message reports (Not all of them) and it looks a little weird.  

I have attached a screen shot for you to take a look at.

Any ideas?

Is there any way of catching Phrases as well as words?

If I wanted to filter two words or more as a phrase and use Spider Web to overwrite that phrase is there any way to do it?
