can this mod be used to have contestants add say a you tube video link of them performing  so that on the site the votes can press play on the D7 site and hear and watch the performance, instead of uploading music files to the server?

 No, it does not allow youtube embedding.

u can install all mods on free ver of dolphin

 Look in my signature and you will see the demo link. It does not matter if your dolphin version is free or not.

Can We change the name/title from Song Contest to something else? If so, how?

You can modify any language string on the site by logging into Admin panel then go to Settings =>Languages Settings and search for the text you want to modify.

It could be done but will require a complete overhaul of the mod as members will also need to be able to create and manage prizes, manage winners and award prizes to winners.

Add the ability to upload a thumbnail photo with Song Contest Entry.

I have this module now on my website, www.2tyte.com, and it's working as said. But i just wish that guests can also vote for their favorite artistes without necessarily joining the website. I am more interested in the traffic that the module will attract than membership population. If members can invite their friends from other social platforms to come vote for their entries without necessarily joining, would really encourage members and guests who may not have interest in the membership

Guests can vote on entries. Go to the membership level settings in your admin panel and enable the options "song contest entries view" and "song contest enter" for non-membership level.

I have another problem with this song contest module:

i have this very strange issue with the contest module; it is affecting my timeline adversely. don't know why.

The error was caused by a new entry for the Song Contest module being added to the user's timeline - specifically event creation.  I'm not sure about the exact cause beyond the entry itself, but removing it from the database fixed the page load.

Fixed issue where blank contest entries were shown on Account/Profile pages. Re-upload files and clear cache.

Song Contest - An issue with the functionality to allow a member to vote more than once has been resolved.

Re-upload modules\modzzz\songcontest\classes folder.
